Together, we’re the next BIG thing in data.Job Description As the Director, Employee Communications, you will lead a modern, global employee communication function that drives employee engagement, creates a compelling and cohesive narrative that builds the company’s culture and establishes effective foundational processes for collaborating with executive leaders and the People organization.Reporting into the Senior Director of Company Communications in the Global Corporate Marketing team, you will lead a content team responsible for sourcing, creating, and publishing content aligned with the company’s priorities to inform, inspire, and motivate employees. You will use timely, targeted communications to address important/pressing questions related to key organizational changes and transformations and will own the editorial direction and integration strategy for the company’s employee-related channels. You and your extended team will be instrumental in sharing relevant and compelling news and stories impacting the company using a modern approach that provides easy access to relevant information for our global teams.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrates an inclusive leadership style with an emphasis on results and developing high-performing team members.Partner with our People teams to provide senior counsel on best practices for global communications programs that support key HR functions and that align with a cohesive narrative and brand.Use timely, targeted communications that address important/pressing questions related to key organizational changes and transformations.Drive innovative approaches that leverage technology to deliver key messages and narratives in more efficient and effective ways and that reach a diverse employee base located all around the world.Collaborate across the Global Corporate Marketing, People Solutions, and other functions to deliver intended outcomes.Lead a content team creating news- and social-media-style coverage that tells the company’s story through our People, programs and processes for internal and external communications channels.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in leading internal/employee communications functions.Strong people leader with demonstrated management experience.Proven record of incorporating modern and diverse channels and techniques into employee communications strategies to support a global and diverse employee community.Experience with strategic change management and change communication strategies.Ability to lead the creation of compelling communications – written, presentation, verbal.Ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving, and at times ambiguous environment.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.Ability to take the initiative and problem solve.Track record of influencing and leading strategic initiatives with multiple stakeholders.Strong organizing skills and the ability to develop and deliver multiple stories/projects at a time while meeting aggressive deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work calmly and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, while maintaining good judgment and the ability to escalate appropriately.Additional Information Western Digital is committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and employees and will not discriminate based on their race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, medical condition, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, genetic information, protected medical and family care leave, military and veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan.
