You can get further details about the nature of this opening, and what is expected from applicants, by reading the below.We are seeking a Principal Product Designer to join a design team that’s revolutionizing the publishing and authoring systems for SharePoint, Viva Connections, Viva Topics, Viva Amplify, and Microsoft Syntex. Our products drive employee engagement, culture, and communication in a hybrid world for hundreds of thousands of organizations and millions of people worldwide.In this role, you will drive a new wave of innovation for the world’s top enterprise publishing system, brainstorm new integrations with other Microsoft products, and advance the reach of the product to new distribution channels. Work on a publishing system that empowers internal teams and external developers to create beautiful and powerful content that increases employee engagement and connection. Work with a multidisciplinary and cross-product teams to deliver beautiful end-to-end user experiences across multiple screens.Drive a variety of design sprints and jam sessions with v-team partners.Design systems thinker/driver.Work within and help evolve design processes that promote collaboration, transparency, and agility.Design to high-quality standards, follow processes, and deliver on schedule.Help develop and refine UI pattern libraries and design guidelines.Stay current on design trends, technologies, and tools, and incorporate them into the design team's work as appropriate.Drive for excellence while never losing sight of the human side of the equation.Embody our culture and values.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design.OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design.OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).Other Requirements:

Applications must include a link to design portfolio.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with web apps, content creation, or content systems.Experience with web publishing, authoring tools, and CMS.Experience leading projects end to end with multidisciplinary partners.Interaction design skills with the ability to design quality user interfaces.Current understanding of modern web publishing systems; constraints and be willing to push the limits and apply creative solutions that support the growth of the business.Ability to prototype design concepts in Figma and other design tools.Experience participating in the complete product development cycle of web apps.Ability to present cohesive design approaches to non-design audiences (including business, product, and technology teams).Ability to effectively manage time; work proactively; prioritize tasks and work within deadlines.Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
