has a current vacancy for a

Communications Analyst*

who is responsible for managing the development and coordination of internal and external communications, media/public relations, and marketing for the department. Duties may include preparing press releases, public service announcements, articles, bulletins, reports, brochures, assist with presentations and education outreach and other media for public dissemination for the department. The Communications Analyst oversees a wide variety of information and communication activities; serves as liaison between director, management and media representatives; and responds to media, public, and inter-agency inquiries.

Staff Analyst IITHE DEPARTMENTThe Land Use Services Department is dedicated to ensuring a balance in the areas of housing, business, and recreational needs for the diverse cultures and communities of San Bernardino County. This is accomplished through comprehensive regional planning and enforcement of building standards, land uses, and environmental impacts. The department continues to improve the quality of life for residents and visitors to San Bernardino County by providing a framework for orderly growth while maintaining the highest level of public safety.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Travel

: Travel throughout the County is required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.Pre-Employment Process

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, business/public administration, marketing, public relations, communications, or closely related field of study.-AND-

EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) years of full-time experience in developing and administering a comprehensive public relations or communications program, which included the dissemination of information to internal and/or external audiences through various communications media.

The ideal candidate will have:Experience developing materials for executive leadershipAbility to develop communication plans and content for a variety of audiencesAbility to utilize content creation software such as, the Adobe Creative suite programs, Microsoft Publisher, or similar programsExperience with content management systems or other applicable systemsExpansive experience developing and maintaining social media content on a variety of platformsKnowledge of Communication principles and practicesExcellent written and oral communication skills, including use of proper grammar and ability to edit others' written materialsExperience working with the mediaKnowledge of graphic design techniques and practicesCompleting your application with statements such as "see/refer to resume" or "see attached" rather than completing your work history may affect your eligibility or competitive evaluation score. Be sure to clearly describe your experience in meeting the minimum requirements.
