Overview

Stellar Solutions is looking for a highly experienced and highly motivated Tech Director/SME to support Modeling and Simulation (M&S) role in El Segundo, CA. This position provides technical leadership,

systems engineering and advisory support in a dynamic, high-paced environment while guiding program requirements verification, technology evolution and system architectural trades through modeling and simulation and analysis.

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

Coordinates with other government organizations to assure the government's requirements are met. Coordinates and integrates across various non-prime vendors to support the government in a rapid acquisition environment to meet DoD warfighter needs and enable technology and architectural trades for multiple OPIR programs.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with standard systems engineering process and have deep applicable experience with Space and Ground OPIR M&S.As a Systems Engineering & Technical Advisory position, the applicate will have a technical understanding of space sensor hardware/software and data with the ability to understand and make recommendations to our government program managers on how the data is used and/or fused to support our MW/MD/MT/BA/TI and other mission areas.

The applicant will help to translate user mission needs into contract executable terms and subsequently provide technical direction, support technical reviews, and analysis of associated alternatives.Responsibilities Include:Integrate multiple development efforts into a single cohesive plan

Providing overall OPIR subject matter expertise to all elements of the program architectureSupport the evaluation and refinement of Stakeholder Requirements and the Definition of and flow-down to lower-level documents for development.Support the development of technical specifications, Interface Control Documents, integration plans and schedules.Interact with services and interagency partners to provide integrated solutions to warfighter needsEvaluation and analysis of Requirements and support to Capability Need AnalysisAssess the effectiveness of various OPIR processing chainsSupport Independent verification of Program of Record performanceRisk Reduction of Mission Processing and algorithms assessmentAssess FORGE Scalability for multi-Satellite and multi-orbit constellationsEvaluate new sensors ingestion and fusion in FORGE ground processingAssist development and integration of Higher fidelity modelsGenerate data to guide architecture pivot courses of action based on industry inputsProvide independent analysis of vendor technology claimsProvide guidance and mentoring to junior technical SMEsRequired Qualifications:MS degree in STEM field20+ years of experience in Space Based OPIR Industry and with familiarity with advanced tech programs10+ years managing programs with multiple stakeholderSupported multiple Space Sensiing development related to the OPIR communityU.S. Citizen with Top Secret/SCI clearanceExperience with the OPIR data processing chainDesired Qualifications:PHD in STEM field and experience in:Space experience in the areas of Space Based OPIR to include DSP and SBIRS programsSpace Based OPIR space to ground integration experience with Major Prime or SubcontractorGround system build out and testSpace Systems and PayloadsProgram portfolio managementMission Partner/Stakeholder relationsTechnology selection for space applicationsSchedule ManagementRequired Education:Must have a Master's Degree with a major in a STEM fieldSecurity Clearance & Other Requirements:U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret Clearance and also to access US only data systemsAbility to travel to temporary work locationsLocation:El Segundo, CA with hybrid schedule authorized based on customer needsAbility to travel to temporary work locations

The typical pay range for this position is USD $250,000 - $350,000 per year, total package. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, retirement plan and other benefits (all included as part of package).

Deliverable(s)

Deliver the next generation space sensing modeling

and simulation capability

that will ensure the government is able to assess projected performance of various proposed on-orbit system configurations to find the optimal solution for the DoD for missile warning, tracking and defense.
