Act as a department senior liaison, providing proactive coordination and consultation to customers and Aerospace staff across the company; specifically, lead the software architecture design for the subdivision’s effort to modernize our capabilities in the area of Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms.Initiate and conduct efforts to grow and sustain the subdivision’s modeling, simulation, and analysis capabilities to support new and existing functional areas including digital engineering, cloud computing, and high-performance computing while applying leadership and coordination across multi-disciplinary technical leaders, Aerospace Program Office personnel, and external customers.Partner with subdivision analysis leads to exercise influence on key stakeholders and government customers by leading customer engagement efforts on the modernization of a range of modeling and simulation workflows within the subdivision.Establish and maintain effective and enduring working relationships with key organizational customers.Provide support in strategic planning, identifying opportunities to leverage development and analysis across diverse projects and analysis types while leading efforts to close capability gaps.Engage with software users and customers to refine capability requirements.Mature technical expertise in the department through mentoring team members and directing workflow development.Develop and present timely and technically accurate briefings and reports that clearly communicate software development progress and provide recommended design solutions to technical leads, management, and customers.Travel occasionally to support customer efforts.What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or other related disciplines from an accredited school.At least five years of progressively responsible professional experience in leading and contributing to modeling and simulation software development, successfully demonstrated across numerous substantial customer-driven projects, to include:Design of modern software architectures.Experience in the design of Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithms.Use of software configuration management and collaboration tools in team environments.Technical writing and technical presentation.Training and mentoring junior staff.Successful timely delivery of complex team projects.Strong leadership skills and rapport with customers and teammates.Proficiency in one or more of the organization’s core computer languages (e.g., C/C++, Python, Fortran, etc.).How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:Graduate degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or another STEM-related discipline from an accredited school.Professional experience with successfully developing new capabilities for modeling, simulation, and analysis tools, workflows, or related efforts.Professional experience in modern software development, integration, and testing practices.Experience with data visualization technologies such as OpenGL.Experience leveraging cloud computing infrastructure including CI/CD pipelines and AWS Cluster computing.Experience developing performant applications to run on high-performance computing clusters.Experience with Aerospace customers and industry players.We offer a competitive compensation package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below.
