KGKC is seeking an experienced and passionate Photojournalist to join Kansas City’s first Spanish-language newscast! The position is based in Kansas City, Missouri. The successful candidate will be required to capture and edit visual content for the newscast and multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
Gather and organizes raw and edited video into filesShoot field video, including interviewsReviews all video for accuracy and adherence to station standardsDetermines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete storiesMust have strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and able to handle multiple assignments under deadlineHybrid role as a multimedia journalist would include reporting, shooting, writing, editing, feeding news production content for all platforms in a clear mannerQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, television broadcasting or related fieldNewsroom ExperienceExcellent verbal skills in Spanish and EnglishExperience operating video editing equipmentAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyMust be willing to work long hours, varying shifts (including nights and weekends) and report to work in emergencies depending on news coverage when necessaryMust have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesMust have a valid driver's license
