Job Title: Specialist, Mechanical Designer (CAD)Job Code: 14779Job Location: Palm Bay, FloridaJobDescription:Performs a wide range of CAD design assignments in support of the mechanical engineering organization including the creation of models and/or drawings. As Senior Designer for small to medium programs, reporting to Project Designer. Works in accordance with program documentation plan. Assures design documentation complies with the program requirements, organization’s processes and industry standards. Prepares accurate drawings with proper tolerances, dimensions and instructions, with oversight from senior Project Designer or Engineering IPTL.Essential functions include:Provide CAD support (PTC Creo) throughout the product development processGenerate and/or modify product’s models, drawings and documentationSupport the control of mechanical digital data files and drawingsPrepare and incorporate engineering change ordersInput data and assure hardware structures are accurateIn a Product Data Management toolSupport resolution of problems/issues in CAD design/drawings and provide corrective actions.Compliance with command media & standardExperience with L3Harris products and legacy Electronics Packaging and Space and Airborne SystemsHigh level utilization of solid modeling/drawing application such as PTC Creo Parametric.Provide support in structural antenna design, fabrication and manufacturing process for Space antennas.Work within applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices).Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.Active Top Secret clearance requiredSolid modeling/drawing application experience such as PTC Creo ParametricExperience in structural antenna design, fabrication and manufacturing processProfessional experience with applicable government and industry standards including ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices).Preferred Additional Skills:Familiar with legacy L3Harris antenna designs, specifically experimental.Experience in structural antenna design, fabrication and manufacturing process, specifically for Space antennas.
