Each of Gathr’s core business platforms are recognized leaders in their respective markets.ABOUT THE POSITION :We are looking for an exceptionally skilled and visionary Director of Product Design to lead our product design team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in crafting innovative outdoor gear, a deep understanding of design principles, and the ability to inspire and mentor a team of talented designers.RESPONSIBILITIES
:Articulate a compelling vision for the product design team, ensuring alignment with the company's brand strategy and business objectives.Guarantee a consistent and appealing design language across our product line to enhance brand recognition.Motivate and inspire the design team to push creative boundaries, delivering high-quality, innovative products.Provide valuable feedback to designers, fostering an iterative design process that integrates input from stakeholders.Conduct regular design reviews to guide the team toward excellence, especially during product launches.Implement and refine design processes to optimize efficiency, quality, and collaboration.Manage and oversee the workflow and processes of the design team.Stay informed on emerging materials and technologies to contribute to innovative product designs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive product launches.Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities for team members.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS :Proven experience as a Director of Product Design or similar role in the outdoor gear industry.A strong portfolio showcasing successful product designs.Deep knowledge of outdoor activities and industry trends.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and CAD software.EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS :Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.TRAVEL:Up to 15% travel required to brand offices in the US.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Repetitive motions such as lifting and turning.Required to lift, retrieve, or reposition products weighing up to 50 pounds.Normally this person is standing or walking around the facility interacting with team members.WORK ENVIRONMENT:Works in manufacturing & office environments. The noise level in the facility is usually moderate.
