The Marketing Manager will be responsible for marketing projects related to the development and implementation of innovative, integrated marketing plans designed to build local, regional, and national reputation and volume for key clinical specialties, as well as stewardship of the UVA Health brand. He/she is responsible for the disciplined planning and execution of these programs, on time and on budget, under the supervision of the Director of Service line Marketing and Associate Chief/Marketing. The Marketing Manager is a multi-channel marketing expert and responsible for coordinating these plans across traditional and digital platforms and in adherence to the organization’s brand strategy, inclusive of integration with UVA Community Health marketing.

This position collaborates closely with the Enterprise Communication and Digital Strategy team members as well as service line leadership to develop and assess marketing strategies that advance business objectives and build UVA Health’s reputation across targeted geographies. The position also collaborates closely with UVA Community Health stakeholders to ensure system-level marketing coordination and drives strategy for local marketing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage a team of marketing specialists of various levels of experience.Advance marketing efforts that elevate the awareness and reputation of the Health System, inclusive of UVA Community Health, ultimately optimizing volume and market share.Responsible for UVA Health brand management; develop and socialize policies and procedures for brand, logo and name usage.Manage ongoing UVACH brand integration and rebrand activity, including management and collaboration with external vendors and other employee teams as needed.Manage development and coordination of data-driven UVA Community Health patient acquisition efforts that are unique to the UVACH markets, and oversee execution of local level marketing needs.Lead annual US News campaign strategy and execution, including ongoing strategies to engage physician audiences to maximize reputation and referrals.Research latest trends in healthcare marketing with an emphasis on digital engagement and acquisition to drive best practices across the team.Evaluate marketing efforts and track progress towards preference and market share goals. Research and analysis may include: market share, market position, utilization trends, consumer perception and preference, market demographics and return on investment analysis.Serve as strategic and operational lead on select departmental and organizational initiatives.Advance standard work across the team of marketing specialists to achieve business goals with quarterly assessment of current approach to service line marketing.Oversee annual budget planning and tracking.Identify opportunities to improve team processes and efficiencies.Work collaboratively with department staff to compile and report Return on Investment (ROI) data and methodologies.Manage the budget approved for marketing activities contained in the marketing plan.Work with other staff-writing, design, web, etc. on development of marketing initiatives.Ensure that materials adhere to the brand, design, and graphic standards of UVA Health.Other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range:

$87,755.20 - $140,400.00 Annual

Minimum Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.Experience: 7-10 years of marketing experience with progressive responsibility; hospital/healthcare marketing experience preferred; marketing agency experience desired.Licensure: None.

Physical Demands:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
