Key Responsibilities:Represents the business unit on internal management teams, sub-committee management teams, product development teams and other teams to arrive at business line strategies. Assumes lead-role when appropriate.Partners with sales executives to assess current organizational sales capabilities and provides recommendations for improving sales effectiveness and execution. Assists in developing sales strategy for specific products and services.Establishes and manages relationships with sales team, sales leadership and other key stakeholders to understand opportunities.Troubleshoots and expedites resolution of problems for distribution channel partners in matters of licensing, underwriting, accounting, administration and performance.Researches sophisticated, technical questions related to products or distribution.Develops budgets, plans and programs. Assists in setting quotas. Implements programs. Administers and monitors approved budget.Leads annual funding and business planning processes. Consults with executives, peers and core business partners to develop business cases. Runs various sales projects and ensures processes stay current and effective to drive business efficiencies.Develops and delivers effective communication strategy to drive sales success, as appropriate.May perform other responsibilities as assigned.Reporting Relationships:

Reports to Sales Leader and may manage team of professionals.Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education:

Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, economics, insurance or related field. Graduate studies preferred.License/Certification/Designation:

Associates must obtain the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position. NOTE: A credit check may be required if a license is required for this position.Experience:

Ten years managing sales programs, sales support, marketing or direct selling environment.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Proven knowledge of sales management, call center and/or sales support practices and procedures and assigned products and distribution relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze producer's needs, recommend products and determine training. Ability to influence others and effectively drive change.Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.Job Conditions:

If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.The national salary range for Technical Director, Sales and Distribution - Financial Services: $107,000.00-$207,000.00The expected starting salary range for Technical Director, Sales and Distribution - Financial Services: $116,000.00 - $176,000.00
