We provide parents with the education, resources, and support they need to raise children who thrive.We are looking for a full-time Development and Communications Assistant (DCA) who will support the Development and Communications Team. Our DCA will perform skilled administrative and clerical duties related to Cope’s donors, volunteers, communications, fundraising, outreach, and events. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and a desire to start their career in fundraising, communications, marketing, graphic design, copywriting, or a related field.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate gift processing in Salesforce database in accordance with department procedures and in a timely fashionAssist with correspondence, collection of information, and responding to donor and volunteer inquiriesAssist with the implementation of donor stewardship plan, including calls, direct mail, and other donor recognition opportunitiesAssist with direct-mail appeals and production of publications, other marketing and outreach materialsHelp prepare monthly reports and dashboardsMaintain Cope’s photo, video, and story libraryProcess and distribute Cope mail dailyAssist with miscellaneous data maintenanceAssist the Team with various administrative tasks as necessarySupport projects as directed, including, but not limited to, in the areas of communications, fundraising, outreach, volunteer recruitment and support, donor relations, and eventsSupport the agency’s community disaster relief work in times of need, as assignedOther tasks as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSOne (1) year proven experience in marketing, public relations, community organizing, or related field requiredBachelor’s and/or associate degree in communications, marketing, public administration or other related field preferredDemonstrated ability to work well with a variety of people; strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, requiredOpen, welcoming, inclusive, and respectful of differences and aware of and manages own bias(es) as part of Cope’s inclusive and caring communityStrong attention to detail and technical accuracyExcellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite requiredExperience managing social media platforms required; experience administering social media platforms specifically for organizations and/or businesses preferredData entry/spreadsheet experience required; database administration experience preferred; familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM system preferredGraphic design and/or production experience a plusSelf-starter who takes initiative, anticipates obstacles and is a problem solver with the ability to complete projects independently within a team-based environmentStrives for quality and sets high standards for own performanceAvailability to occasionally work irregular hours, including weekends, as necessary for meeting deadlines and supporting after-hours events and meetingsMust possess valid California driver’s license and proof of insurancePass DOJ and FBI fingerprinting and background check.Must be able to lift 30 lbs.Application Process:Please note: We will only consider inquiries complete with a current resume and a detailed cover letter expressing your interest in this position.
