Job Description:This position is responsible for producing advanced learning content to support the learning and performance needs defined by Broadcom Education for a variety of audiences and behaviors to achieve strategic business goals. Work with senior management to conduct job, task, and needs analysis to identify strategically aligned learning and performance initiatives and design and develop blended learning and performance support solutions in a variety of delivery modes and mix of technologies (e.g., instructor-led training, self-paced training, collaboration tools, other online learning support, etc.). It may also procure and manage external vendors and measure the business impact and effectiveness of deployed learning and performance solutions. May assist the department manager in mentoring and coaching other instructional designers and relevant staff.Key Responsibilities:Conduct job, task, knowledge, and skills analysis to determine learning and performance needs, and work with senior management and employees to identify these needs per business priorities.Lead the design and implementation of curriculum and develop appropriate plans to assist in achieving organizational goals, including working with external vendors to ensure learning content is tailored to Broadcom culture and practices.Ensure that learning content is consistently integrated across curriculum and roles and is tailored to audience-specific needs and learning requirements.Lead the creation and updating of current instructional and performance strategies and processes.Work with subject matter experts to gather, analyze, and organize content that will be designed and developed into learning content.Work with other Broadcom groups such as Development, Support, Services, and Marketing to plan and execute objectives.When necessary, meet with different levels of employees/customers/partners to plan work and solicit feedback and requirements.Work with other Readiness Curriculum Development Teams to ensure consistent presentation and delivery mechanisms for learning content.Validate the effectiveness of learning content using appropriate methods.Work with the Learning Systems and Infrastructure Team to coordinate development efforts with plans to implement new learning delivery systems internally to employees and/or externally to partners.Additional responsibilities for Technical Trainer working as SMEs to develop technical learning content and performance support for different audiences:Serve as the technical expert on content development projects and ensure the instructional and learning integrity of curriculum under development utilizing Broadcom's Services Best Practices.Demonstrate expertise with all the major products within designated solutions, plus one to two additional complementary products and/or best practices.Familiar with cross-brand solutions and integration.As an advisor and expert, the Instructional Designer will attend and participate in curriculum analysis and design workshops, technical walk-throughs, pilot classes, and other assigned development activities.For assigned projects, ensure technical accuracy and completeness of content concerning the curriculum and design in conjunction with Broadcom's Services Best Practices.Collaborate with team members for curriculum development to maintain learning paths and curriculum roadmaps.Articulate at a granular level a Solution's vision, capabilities, business value, and offerings to internal and external customers and prospects.Support Sales and Technical Sales with Education solution development by providing information on products and offerings and assisting with specific sales opportunities.Develop software images and environments and other technology support, as appropriate, to support the application of products as part of learning content and performance support solutions.Typical Role Definition:A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the area of specialization. Typically, has no direct reports.Typically, has no total staff.Typically, has a global geographic focus.Typically, does not manage a budget.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeEight or more years of experience in an instructional design role.Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organization.Experience in managing stakeholders.Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processesAbility to work in a physical office environment at one of our listed locationsPreferred Skills and Qualifications:Strong working knowledge of software educationStrong working knowledge of mainframe softwareStrong working knowledge of the open mainframe environment and mainframe developer's experience in modern mainframe environmentsExperience with data analytics
