Baltimore Street\rBaltimore, MD 21201\rPOSITION DUTIESThe Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is seeking\ra dynamic and visionary leader to fill the role of Senior Executive Director,\rOffice of Communications and Community Engagement. This pivotal position will\rdrive the development and execution of a comprehensive internal and external communications,\rmarketing, and community engagement strategy to enhance MSDE's public image,\rfoster community connections, and ensure effective communication across various\rplatforms.\rResponsibilities Include:\r\r\r

Provide strategic leadership in developing and executing\r

comprehensive internal and external communications, marketing, and community\r

engagement strategies.\r

Establish and evaluate communication, community engagement,\r

marketing, and strategy objectives aligned with MSDE's priorities and goals.\r

Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets,\r

ensuring accurate representation of MSDE's priorities, goals, and values.\r

Develop and implement strategies for crisis communications\r

response to foster trust and credibility among media partners and the public.\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\rMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: A Bachelor’s\rdegree from an accredited college or university.\rExperience: Seven\ryears of experience in leadership with expertise in the areas of developing and\rimplementing comprehensive communications strategies.\rNotes: Candidates may substitute the possession of a\rMaster’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to\rthe position for two years of the required experience.\rDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference will be given to applicantswho possess the\rfollowing preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specific\rinformation on your application regardingyour qualifications.\r\r\r\r

Internal and external communications,\r
