Through the support and training of our staff, our coaches confidently lead children in fun and engaging activities that are designed to create opportunities for learning while developing essential life skills.THE ROLEThe Manager of Curriculum Design for Primary & STEAM reports to the Director of Curriculum and collaborates with the Manager of Curriculum for Secondary Education and Sports, playing a vital role in designing and overseeing the design, development, and implementation of our comprehensive curriculum that integrates developmentally appropriate content and social-emotional learning (SEL) for students from early childhood through elementary school. In this role, you will create a positive and inclusive environment where students can engage in enriching educational activities while developing critical social and emotional skills and access a variety of enrichment activities including STEM and the arts.This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational experiences of young learners, ensuring they receive a well-rounded and inclusive education that prepares them for future success.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management of Program Specialists: Under the Director of Curriculum and in collaboration with the Manager of Secondary & Sport, the Curriculum Manager of Primary & STEAM supervises and supports the work of a team of specialists in designing their goals and ensuring the efficacy of their creative work and innovation.Oversight of Curriculum Design: Develop and implement an integrated vision of holistic scope and sequence that aligns with California-based standards.Integrated Social-Emotional Learning: In adherence with CASEL’s framework for Transformative SEL (T-SEL) ensuring that evidence-based SEL practices are intelligently integrated into the broader offering of student-facing content and coach training.Culturally Relevant Content: Ensure the content designed reflects the interests and needs of the students across the country, including a diverse range of developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive educational content that caters to the needs and interests of early childhood and elementary school students.Inclusive Education: Ensure the curriculum fosters inclusivity and encourages the participation of students with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and skill levels.Professional Development: Design and deliver effective training and professional development opportunities for teachers and staff, focusing on curriculum implementation, SEL, and inclusive practices.Collaboration: Work closely with team members and stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and community partners, to effectively disseminate and integrate curriculum materials and best practices.Long-term Planning: Collaborate with company leadership to develop long-term goals and forecasting based on current educational trends and research.Evaluation: Monitor curriculum effectiveness through data collection and evaluation methods, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes and meet program objectives.Expert Consultation: Serve as the company's expert in matters of curriculum design, adult learning, early childhood and elementary education, and supplemental enrichment opportunities (STEAM & 21st Century Skills).Position Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in education, early childhood development, psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Minimum of 5+ years of previous experience in curriculum development and training, particularly in early childhood and elementary education.2+ years of experience in managing a team, overseeing program implementation, and project management in education.In-depth knowledge of California-based standards, SEL principles, and universal learning design (California Teaching Credentials and experience are preferred).Familiarity with child development principles and experience in integrating these into curriculum design and implementation.Experience designing and implementing training for adults who work in educational settings.Strong leadership and organizational skills to effectively manage staff, resources, and program logistics.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in education.Ability to motivate and inspire a team and foster a positive and inclusive educational environment.About You:Passion for early childhood and elementary education.Excellent long-term planning skills and attention to detail.Enthusiastic about personal growth, SEL, and child well-being.Confident and clear communicator in virtual and in-person settings.Entrepreneurial spirit and natural curiosity for mentorship and training.Excellent time management skills and the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.Thorough understanding of the organization’s goals, mission, and plans.Energetic, hardworking, and passionate about supporting others.Experience and knowledge in areas including but not limited to enrichment lessons, student engagement, elementary state standards, project-based learning, and early childhood education.This position's target annual base pay range is $75,000 - $95,000. Final pay determinations may depend on various factors including, but not limited to, experience level, education, geographical location, knowledge, and skills.
