The Highlights:

Reporting to the Head of Digital Services, the Library Technology Support Specialist is responsible for preventive and routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and assistance with patron and staff technology. This includes Windows and Apple computers, printers, peripherals such as scanners, and other specialized library equipment. This position also assists with special library technology projects.

What You'll Do:

Printer and Lab Technology Support- Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on printers, scanners, lab computers, and other patron facing technology- Maintain hardware inventories- Coordinate with DePaul IS to replace, implement, and testing imaged lab machines

General Technology Support and Lab Software- Maintain lab machines with administrative images- Troubleshoot Pharos software for printers- Support the plotter printers and poster printing service- Escalate tickets to DePaul IS and vendor support- Maintain usage statistics for technology use

Staff Technology Support- Support staff technology installation- Troubleshoot staff machines and equipment- Troubleshoot library-specific technology

Special Projects- Assist the Information Technology Librarian with technology projects as needed

Sunday-Thursday schedule required during Fall, Winter, and Spring academic quarters.

What You'll Need:

Required qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 1-3 years relevant experience is required.

Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting printers and scanners.

Strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and effectively interact with people across cultural identities and foster an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming environment.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree preferred

A+ Certification.

Experience with specialized library technology.

Proficiency with using help desk ticketing systems.

Proficiency with maintaining and troubleshooting both Microsoft and Apple hardware and software.

Ability to troubleshoot printers

Ability to troubleshoot scanners

Knowledge of both Windows and Apple operating systems and hardware
