The Team: Learning Experience DesignThe Learning Experience team is central to the Chegg Skills organization - leading and implementing our learning strategy across every service and surface in the product ecosystem. The team works collaboratively, including Product Managers, UX Designers, Instructional Designers, Learning Scientists, and Data Engineers. Our mission is to ensure students achieve their learning goals in a supportive, engaging, and productive way. We are driven by student outcomes, thrive in cross-functional teams, hold ourselves accountable to learning-specific KPIs, have a bias for action, and demonstrate strong business acumen in Chegg's fast-paced environment.

The Role:As the Senior Manager of Learning Experience Design, you will design and build outcomes-focused and evidence-based learning products. You will have at least 8 years of experience working in or collaborating with product delivery teams, ideally with agile and iterative design frameworks. In addition, you will have at least 3 years of experience directly managing a team, setting and tracking individual and team goals, evaluating performance, and onboarding and mentoring early-career employees.

You are skilled at making data-driven decisions quickly to inform learning design and implementation. You have worked in a commercial environment and are experienced in presenting a compelling business case to stakeholders. You seek to educate internal stakeholders on evidence-based best practices to strengthen a learning discipline across the organization and advocate for learning design throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement strategic plans for learning and design initiatives that align with overall business goals.Lead and mentor 3-4 learning experience, product, and design managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.Oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality learning products and programs.Collaborate with senior leadership to drive organizational priorities and ensure alignment across functions.Ensure all learning materials are engaging, effective, and aligned with industry standards and best practices.Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and internal teams.Manage project timelines and resources to deliver projects on time and within scope.Provide regular updates to senior leadership on team progress, challenges, and opportunities.Work closely with other departments, including product development, marketing, and sales, to ensure cohesive product strategies and messaging.Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development.Implement and optimize processes to enhance team efficiency and productivity.Conduct regular assessments of team workflows and make data-driven adjustments as needed.Develop long-term product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and ongoing optimization.

Requirements:

8+ years of work experience building and delivering customer-facing learning products.3+ years of management experience hiring, training, mentoring, and evaluating learning experience designers.Excellent leadership, collaboration skills, and influence across multiple functions.Experience working with product teams (product managers, content operations, and user experience designers) and technical staff (software engineers and data scientists).A passion for how technology can support effective learning at scale.Strategic communicator with the ability to speak at a high level to executive audiences, and the ability to get into the details with project teams.Proven knowledge and understanding of how organizations build, operate, and scale modern technology applications.Experience developing formal and compelling business cases for presentation to stakeholders.

Preferred:

Subject matter expertise in post-secondary and/or adult learning theories, instructional design methods, learner-centered design principles, and learning outcomes research and impact.Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining advanced, scalable learning programs.

The pay range for this position is $144,640 to $358,155.
