JOB SUMMARY

The American Nurses Association (ANA) is seeking to hire a Director of Marketing to our MarCom team. In this role you will lead all aspects of integrated marketing communications, and you will work closely with stakeholders, brand, marketing, and communications colleagues as well as external partners, to develop strategies for events, content marketing and marketing campaigns for all entities and stakeholders within the ANA Enterprise.

You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities and for the development and execution of integrated and data-driven integrated marketing communications strategies, to drive business objectives, goals/results, and ROI to achieve the goals & objectives of the ANA Enterprise strategic plan.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Develops comprehensive awareness of and relationships with diverse stakeholder community to effectively deliver marketing strategies in support of strategic goals and objectivesDefines, articulates, and implements marketing communications strategies to elevate awareness and understanding of the organization’s mission, goals, and activities for both revenue driven and mission driven activitiesOversees the planning, development, and execution of omnichannel marketing strategies for new and existing products, services, programs, and campaigns, driving meaningful progress and growthRole models a digital-first and data driven philosophy across marketing communications strategies and channelsPartners across the Marketing and Communications team to help activate brand strategy through program, product as well as service focused campaigns and activitiesWorks directly with executive-level clients to validate and regularly update strategic objectives as needed and fosters a high degree of stakeholder engagement through externally facing omni-channel marketing and communications mechanismsCollaborates brand, marketing, and communications colleagues to ensure strategic, integrated planning, execution, analysis to optimize efficient operations and impactResponsible for recruiting, hiring, retaining, and supervising individuals in the team and providing coaching, mentoring and feedback to team membersShapes data ROI reporting to provide insights on attribution, campaigns, and disseminating this information to business partners to better inform them of the work, results, and ROI. Leverages data to perform analytics and drive data-based decision making.Manages budget responsibilities as appropriate to minimize expenses, meet business goals, and maximize ROIResponsible for performing general market research to keep abreast of trends and marketing and communications movements, and analysis to remain competitiveEstablishes, communicates, and implements best practices in partnership with digital customer experience capability to further our customer-first, digital-first roadmapWHAT YOU BRING TO ANA

Education:

An undergraduate degree from a 4-year institution required (in advertising, marketing or communications preferred), master’s degree preferred

Minimum of 12 years overall product or service marketing experience, 15+ preferred, with a minimum of 5 years managing a marketing team of 8-10+ preferredAssociation experience and healthcare or nursing professional knowledge desirable but not necessaryDemonstrated and proven leadership and organizing skillsAnalytical and creative thinkerExceptional understanding of the digital landscape including email marketing, content marketing, lead generation, social media, and digital advertisingExcellent visual presentation and writing skills, and the ability to express complex information in a straightforward wayDemonstrated experience segmenting and targeting audiences and markets to serve relevant messages and contentDemonstrated ability to work with diverse clientsDemonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with clientsStrong customer service skills and customer relationship management experienceAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environmentAbility to learn at a fast pace and to communicate effectively both written and verballyUnderstanding of enterprise-level IT principles and omni-channel marketing best practicesUnparalleled attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office softwareStrong project management skills and organizationStrong work ethic and positive attitudeCollegial, positive, innovative work styleAbility to multi-task without losing critical attention to detailAbility to work collaboratively with org-wide teams in a fast-paced work environmentFlexibility and diplomacy in dealing with changing priorities and demanding workloadPreferred Skills & Experience
