Education:High school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field of study preferredWork Experiences:10+ years of field marketing experienceExperience working in retail environmentExperience with local/community/grassroots marketingEvent activation experience with brands or agenciesManagement experience requiredExperience managing field-based teams in multiple geographies preferredSkills:Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create thorough documentation and interface effectively with individuals at various levelsAbility to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environmentExcellent time management skills, with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneouslyCapable of working effectively with minimal supervisionStrong presentation skills, with the ability to independently and effectively lead and administer meetingsDemonstrated ability to take initiative and operate with a sense of urgencyProficient use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word and ExcelResponsibilities:Manage field-based team of Regional Marketing Specialists across multiple geographiesResponsible for all aspects of regional marketing that includes developing partnerships with grassroots and local community organizations that result in positive brand perceptions and drive traffic/trial to stores within assigned regionManage a robust portfolio of grassroots and community partners and their respective contracts and terms within assigned regions and marketsPartner with Marketing and Store Operations leadership to align regional marketing programs and activations that support company priorities and provide a regional lens that shows an understanding and leveraging of the local community's preferences and seasonalityCoach and support local Store Directors with community marketing efforts to ensure achievement of transactions and sales within assigned regionsDevelop, manage and implement regional marketing strategies, programs and events to amplify and localize the corporate brand message through programs and partnerships that:Promote the Academy brandDrive trafficBuild customer relationships/drive loyaltyCapture customer dataPlan, localize and execute successful new store openings within assigned regions; Provide local market intelligence to support overall market entry strategy and plan implementation from pre-opening to transition to comp storeIdentify “headwinds” and “tailwinds” by region/market to maximize opportunities and minimize risksCollaborate with communications, community relations and media to ensure:Delivery of the right message, right channel, and right customer at the right timeServe as regional spokesperson and identify earned media opportunitiesOversee the budget for the assigned regions and support management of the total department budgetIdentify and evaluate new marketing opportunities in the regionAnalyze and evaluate ROI/effectiveness of programs and grassroots/community partnershipsManage day to day operations of multi-regional team including creative workflow for grassroots programs, new store openings, community activations, contract negotiations and terms for assigned regions.Operate under a team structureMaintain current knowledge on state and federal laws that pertain to promotions and events and partner with legal and real estate on proper permitting and landlord permissionsDevelop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rulesDuties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements & Attendance:Regular attendance requiredUp to 50% travel, as neededAbility to provide in-person support and coordination of promotional events on nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by business needsAbility to lift up to thirty pounds unaidedAcceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job dutiesAdhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behaviorFull time
