It’s crucial that as a collective, our employees, volunteers and the general public have all the tools they need to safely and effectively manage emergency events.About the RoleThe advertised role operates within the Digital and Campaigns branch of DFES, which is responsible for managing an extensive range of digital communication projects and platforms, as well as public safety and recruitment campaigns. This includes strategic digital projects such as DFES’ corporate website, ‘My Bushfire Plan’ (Australia’s first bushfire preparedness app), writing and developing creative content, leveraging pop culture and trends to promote our services and people, engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and moderation across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.You’ll be an integral part of our Digital and Campaigns team and will be able to apply your communication skills and creativity to create content that will keep people safe, and our online audience engaged.You’ll have the ability to spot trends and develop recommendations to continually improve the Department’s presence in the digital landscape. In addition, you’ll have the ability to evaluate performance across platforms and report on the effectiveness of content.One day you might be making TikToks that showcase the work of firefighters, volunteers and other emergency services workers. Other days, you might be supporting safety or recruitment campaigns by creating content fit for social media platforms.You’ll write creative copy leveraging pop culture and current trends across various social media channels to promote our services and the people who deliver them.You’ll also learn a lot, work with passionate and dedicated people and get unique crisis communications experience during emergencies across the State.The skills you’ll needGreat communication.
