Sales, Marketing and Innovation | Arts/CultureThe Senior Coin Designer/Sculptor is responsible for collaborating with multiple stakeholders to conceive and design coins, medals, medallions, tokens, and other coined projects for a variety of themes including significant national anniversaries and major events such as the Olympics.Using traditional and modern sculpting methods along with computer-based modeling, the Senior Coin Designer/Sculptor participates in the design and delivery of over 300 models a year for collectible coins and numismatic products.They manage project timelines and approvals, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure designs meet acceptable standards, specifications, and deadlines. They also contribute to continuous improvement, providing advice on the development of coin design, technical specifications, and processes.As a senior member of the design team, the Senior Coin Designer/Sculptor mentors and supports junior team members to enhance the team’s capability.The duties of this position include:Applying design-thinking principles to collaborate with the Product Development and Business Development teams to conceive and design coins, medals, medallions, tokens, and other coined products.Modeling approved designs using traditional sculpting methods in plasticine and plaster, and computer-based 3D modeling tools such as Carveco and Z-Brush, that meet manufacturing specifications and business requirements.Managing project timelines, approvals, and deliverables, including working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the manufacturing process, to ensure finished designs meet standards, specifications, and deadlines.Assisting the Lead Designer and Coin Design Team Leader to mentor and support junior team members, and identifying professional development opportunities to enhance the team’s capability.Contributing to continuous improvement by providing advice across the Mint on the development of coin design guidelines, technical specifications documentation, processes, and systems support.QualificationA tertiary qualification in a related artistic field such as design, sculpture, or visual arts is required.How to applyPlease submit your application by
