The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Marketing Director – Donor Engagement leads the Donor Engagement marketing team in creating donor affinity, acquisition, engagement, and event participation. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and driving data-driven marketing strategies that support the goals and objectives of WWP’s business development and community event fundraising teams.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with stakeholder goals and objectives, utilizing innovative ideas, data-driven insights, industry best practices, and integrated marketing plans.

Collaborate with leadership across Marketing, Communications, Direct Response, and Resource Development to establish strategies for business development and community event donor participation initiatives.

Track and analyze campaign and initiative performance, delivering comprehensive fundraising and marketing reports to leadership, ensuring alignment with stakeholder goals and objectives.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, internal support teams, and external vendors.

Identify and pursue strategic partnerships in collaboration with stakeholders to expand WWP's reach and impact.

Lead the development and execution of multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including traditional and digital initiatives.

Analyze donor data to identify trends, segment audiences, and personalize engagement efforts.

Research and identify veteran service organizations as well as non-profit donor and marketing trends.

Oversee vendor and agency relationships to ensure effectiveness, success, and value. Manage RFPs, contracts, and relationships.

Optimize resource allocation to maximize fundraising ROI.

Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.

Lead the development, maintenance, and improvement of departmental processes and procedures.

Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of fundraising marketing professionals

Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Donor Engagement team.

Champion WWP's mission, vision, and core values.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Extensive marketing management and strategic planning experience with a proven track record in developing and successfully executing integrated marketing programs to drive fundraising.

Experience orchestrating large cross-functional teams for the development of targeted marketing communications and messaging.

Strong customer focus and solution-oriented. Positive, outgoing, and personable, with the ability to interact with diverse populations.

Proven ability to lead a high-performing team of marketing professionals.

Ability to handle multiple, highly diverse projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Diligent in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and prioritizing in a dynamic environment.

Self-motivated, self-starter, and self-disciplined. Ability to take initiative and work well under pressure.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

Seven years of experience in a leadership position overseeing marketing initiatives focused on fundraising.

Seven years of experience utilizing customer relationship management, marketing automation, or donor marketing systems (e.g., Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Donor Drive, Classy, DonorPerfect, etc.).

Three years of staff management experience.

Three years of lead generation experience.

Preferences

Ten years of experience in marketing, resource development, or fundraising.

Three years of non-profit fundraising experience.

EDUCATION

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, non-profit management, or related field.

Preferences

Master’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, non-profit management, or related field.
