We hope you can join us on this journey!We are looking for a Social Media Contractor to assist our Comms team. This role will focus on developing and implementing a social media strategy to work towards increasing ROI, amplifying our unique brand voices, and engaging and educating our customers, potential employees, media, and investors across Automattic Brands.

We want this candidate to be an experienced social media wrangler who can use their world-class storytelling skills to craft compelling and cohesive narratives for our various audiences. This person will be an individual contributor and maximize impact as follows:

Promote desired narrative and positioning for Automattic brands

Produce impactful social media campaigns that drive business results

Have a keen understanding of the ever-changing social media landscape

Write impactful copy for public-facing channels that capture correct tone and voice

Responsibilities:

Align with marketing teams to use social media to drive business results.

Refine the channel strategy and management by implementing efficient processes.

Create and manage social media campaigns and their analysis and reporting, as well as understand influencer strategy and management.

Oversee all logistical and production aspects of social media including fielding requests, planning content calendars, coordinating creative production, writing and editing drafts, clearing usage rights, scheduling content, manual publishing, and influencer management.

This role would also need to be well-versed in paid social media advertising and make use of paid options strategically to complement our organic efforts.

Expectations:

Communication

– Ability to host clear, technically accurate conversations and express complicated concepts in easy-to-understand methods, with excellent written, oral, and illustrative communication styles. Listens to and considers alternative perspectives to identify the optimal path forward. Experience writing compelling copy for social media content.

Multi-Tasking & Prioritization

– Establish and maintain open communication flow between partners, and shepherd projects through to completion within deadlines. Work with colleagues as well as outside media and partners to ensure all opportunities are well-leveraged and customer and project needs are met.

Decision-Making

– Shows complexity in thought when considering resource tradeoffs in the pursuit of measured business impact. Can procure supporting data to make informed decisions.

Project Management

– Implement efficient and impactful systems for accountability across teams and drive initiatives forward to completion, and measures estimated vs. actualized impact. All team members are encouraged to hone this skill as part of their responsibilities.

Collaboration

– Collaborates closely with marketing, communications, and support peers to amplify the impact of our collective efforts.

Knowledge of the WordPress Ecosystem

– Understanding and knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem is a plus, including but not limited to having built websites on the WordPress platform, being a member of the WordPress community, and/or understanding the various products and tools within the Automattic portfolio.

Salary range: $70,000-$110,000 USD -

Please note that salary ranges are global, regardless of location, and we pay in local currency.
