Location: Seattle, WashingtonAbout the Position:

The University of Washington (UW) has an outstanding opportunity for a Director of Broadcast Operations to join their team. This position will aid in efforts to deliver a first-class linear and digital television broadcast experience and will be a self-motivated, team-oriented, organized problem solver who will coordinate and lead all live event video broadcasts of home athletics events and assist with in-game production elements.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAdministration (25%):

Collaborate with a diverse team on the design, integration, and execution of the department's Production Control Room and the Big Ten StudentU program. Develop, implement, document, and troubleshoot processes, workflows, and provide guidance and support to the engineering team with preventative maintenance for production equipment.Production (60%):

Act as production manager of live event broadcasts over various platforms. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best event viewing experience. Independently troubleshoot issues during live productions and guide a team of students and game-day operators.Development (15%):

Build a collaborative production community and stay abreast of new technology supporting live event production. Develop and strategize long-term procedures and policies for the UW ICA Broadcast department.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field.A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Operational or Broadcast Engineering role in the collegiate or professional sports industry.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSDemonstrated ability to document work with technical drawings, spreadsheets, and schematics.Knowledge of video fiber infrastructure and connectivity.Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in both control-room and in-field engineering situations.Proficiency in IT & IP based workflows, common A/V setup & servicing.Application Process:
