DescriptionJob Summary:The Associate Director, Marketing and Communications leads the organization’s efforts in developing external and internal marketing and communication strategies to increase awareness of, and participation in the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. This position will build and execute a strong brand for the organization; drive revenue through increased sales of memberships, event registrations, educational material and other IASLC products; and communicate key priorities for the organization with external stakeholders, members, volunteer leaders and staff.This full-time, supervisory position reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This position is based out of our Denver headquarters and works on a hybrid schedule.Essential Functions:Strategy Development:Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the association's mission and initiatives.Analyze market trends and member needs to identify opportunities for growth.Identify and employ new communication tactics, marketing campaigns, engagement tools, and distribution channels to improve marketing and communication effectiveness.Campaign Management:Plan and execute marketing campaigns, including digital, print, and social media.Oversee advertising efforts and promotional activities.Brand Management:Maintain and enhance the association’s brand identity.Ensure consistent messaging across all marketing channels.Content Creation:Develop marketing content such as email, social media posts, marketing collateral, press releases and print and online advertising.Oversee the IASLC communications program to ensure alignment with overall IASLC strategy and objectives.Data Analysis:Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics.Use data to refine strategies and improve campaign effectiveness.Staff Management:Provide effective management and development for members of the Marketing and Communications team, including regular team and individual meetings, performance management/evaluation, and distribution and efficient scheduling of work assignments to meet corporate timelines.Manage the Marketing and Communications team to achieve IASLC’s marketing and communications goals.Ensure effective staff development and execution of responsibilities.Implement processes to ensure efficient delivery of marketing and communication services to the rest of IASLC.Coordinate Marketing and Communication attendance at IASLC meetings and events to provide onsite marketing and communications promotion and support.Internal Coordination:Responsibility for oversight of and execution via all IASLC marketing channels including email, website, social media, marketing collateral, content marketing, search engine optimization, event advertising, public relations, online advertising and direct mail.Work with IASLC Leadership and internal stakeholders to deliver effective, integrated marketing solutions, ensuring that branding is applied cohesively and consistently across the IASLC.Help foster a positive culture between Marketing/Communications staff and other areas of the organization, coaching staff on courageous communication and facilitating positive interactions.Budget Management:Manage the marketing budget.Oversee outside vendors responsible for supporting marketing and communication activities.Allocate resources efficiently across different marketing activities.Other Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned.RequirementsCOVER LETTER AND CURRENT RESUME ARE REQUIRED WITH APPLICATION FOR CONSIDERATION.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing or a related fieldMinimum 7-10 years of experience in a marketing role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.Proven track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns.Strong understanding of brand management and market analysis.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong project management skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Suite, design and publishing software as well as experience with project or workforce management systems.Experience with budget management and resource allocation.Previous supervisory experience.Ability to work effectively in collaboration with various internal teams.Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10-15%)Preferred Qualifications:Previous work experience for a professional membership association or society.Previous experience in marketing for medical or health-related organizations or campaigns.Experience managing a communications team or communications function.Previous experience with healthcare, oncology research or lung cancer researchKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with other departments and other areas of the IASLC to support joint Marketing and Communications goals.Solid writing, proofreading and communications skills are essential. Knowledge of AP style.Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively with management, staff, members, and stakeholders.Ability to quickly learn and utilize project management software to schedule and track all departmental assignments and staff utilization.Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines required.Ability to prioritize and troubleshoot daily.Ability to interpret complex information and present it to a variety of audiences in the most appropriate and user-friendly format.Ability to engage staff across the organization to ensure the successful completion of Marketing and Communications projects on time, in compliance, and within budget.Strong analytic skills to oversee the evaluation of campaign effectiveness.Ability to work in a fast-paced role, managing multiple demands.Flexibility to work beyond regular hours as needed to execute projects on time if necessary.Physical Demands:Ability to sit at computer workstation for extended periods.Ability to lift/move 25-40 pounds on an occasional basis.Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.Work Environment:Ability to work in a fast-paced role while managing multiple demands.Open office environment with computer workstationsFrequent online meeting and phone use.Moderate noise levelBenefits:
