Reporting to the CEO and a member of the company’s leadership team, the Director of Marketing will drive profitable revenue by developing and executing the company’s marketing strategy, including planning, coordinating, and executing all B2B marketing activities directed toward manufacturers reps and national account distributors, as well as other key commercial lighting influencers. While experience among existing channels (online, email, catalog, distribution, print) is valuable, flexibility and willingness to adapt and learn new channels is highly valued, as is an ability to consistently connect with our customers across all channels to develop loyalty and cultivate long-term relationships. Leadership and teamwork are critical parts of this role (and Nova Flex’s culture), as is a highly analytical orientation. As the guardian of the Nova Flex brand and the financial gatekeeper for all marketing activities, the Director of Marketing knows how to measure his or her own activities and uses data to reach optimal decisions. The selection, management, and use of external marketing resources and agencies is an important part of the role, along with overseeing two direct reports. Finally, the Director of Marketing will work closely with new product development and sales to successfully promote and launch new products, as well as monitor the success of new products launched. A desire to work in a rapidly growing company with cool products and a fun culture is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Existing customer retention and revenue growth.

Lead generation: new projects & new contacts at agencies and national account distributors.

Define, clarify, and consistently communicate the company’s brand and cultivate brand loyalty.

Manage the overall communication experience of customers, new and existing. Work closely with the sales and product teams to develop and refine messaging and campaigns that drive revenue.

Job Responsibilities:

Leadership : Lead all marketing efforts and promote a productive and fun work environment that fosters teamwork, data-based decision making, and a customer-centric focus.

Coordination : Collaborate with sales to create and execute novel customer acquisition strategies and tactics. Work with product development and engineering to prioritize and launch new products with features/functions that address market needs and opportunities.

Planning : Develop and maintain the marketing business plan. Select marketing activities that fit the Company’s marketing strategy, deliver the highest ROI, and drive revenue growth. Use milestones to regularly review performance and shift resources accordingly.

Execution : Deliver results based on the marketing plan, working with external vendors (agencies) and the marketing team. Seamlessly coordinate and communicate all activities.

Tradeshows : Plan and execute one to three national tradeshows and five to 10 regional agent shows each year, working closely with agents, sales, and products.

Acquisition : Achieve company customer acquisition and cultivation objectives by developing quarterly, monthly, and weekly marketing plans. Follow through on plans/objectives, hold team accountable, assist team in achieving success on their goals/objectives.

Brand Management : Enforce written, visual, and virtual brand standards. Enhance Nova Flex’s image across all channels, maintaining company values with customers at all times. Be the liaison with representatives of media and advertising, as well as our marketing vendors.

Budgeting : Prepare a comprehensive annual budget to fund all recommended marketing activities. Track results (expenses and ROI) monthly, analyzing variances and making changes to meet objectives. Creatively shift resources to pursue new opportunities as they arise.

Analysis : Track all marketing efforts by activity, business line, and customer segment. Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing plans and projects. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on all of the company’s marketing activities and the results of these activities.

Sales Insights : Monitor sales and develop sales reports to evaluate the success of new products to identify issues and create action plans to address opportunities.

New Products : Support new product launches by gathering market intelligence, coordinating new product training (internal and external), creating collateral, and executing agent sample programs.

Research : Perform customer surveys, interviews, or focus groups to gather customer intelligence as necessary. Conduct industry and competitor research to refine marketing strategy and support product development’s roadmap.

Customer Orientation : Constantly strive to know our customers and their needs better.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor degree in marketing or business required; advanced degrees or certifications a plus.

8+ years of marketing experience, preferably with 3+ years at a B2B oriented light manufacturing, assembly, or value-added distribution environment.

Commercial lighting industry experience preferred but not required.

Demonstrated knowledge and success in market segmentation, opportunity analysis, business modeling, and product strategy; background and knowledge of product management a plus.

Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills; excellent analytical abilities.

Brand management oversight experience.

Proven success cultivating long-term customer relationships and brand loyalty.

Strong computer skills and technology orientation.

Outstanding organization skills; high attention to detail.

Creative and data-oriented problem solver.

Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and a leader.

Experience working in a small, rapidly growing company a plus.

Knowledge of the EOS/Traction system is a plus.

Pay:

$85,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
