POSITION SUMMARY:

National CineMedia (NCM), the largest cinema advertising platform in the US, is hiring a new Vice President, PR & Corporate Communications, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer out of the NY office. NCM reaches hundreds of millions of young, diverse moviegoers each year through its national network of 18,000+ theaters. We program, produce and sell The Noovie® Show that entertains audiences before the trailers and film begin. Our focus is on helping brands and agencies understand how they can leverage the cinema medium and power of movies and pop culture to achieve their business and communications goals.

The VP, PR & Corporate Communications is responsible for all public relations (earned and paid trade media), communications strategy and implementation for NCM. The VP, PR & Corporate Communications is a key member of the Chief Marketing Officer's leadership team, along with senior leaders who focus on sales and trade marketing, brand marketing, strategic partnerships, creative and production.

The primary focus of the PR leader is elevating NCM's reputation and driving press coverage from the media outlets that report on the marketing, advertising and media trade industry, collaborating closely with sales and marketing leadership. This position will also lead corporate communications, which includes internal communications, financial communications (in collaboration with a specialized outside firm), corporate social media strategy, and employee engagement. This role owns both strategic oversight and day-to-day management, utilizing a wide degree of creativity and latitude. This is a high-profile position, collaborating closely with the C-suite on a daily basis.

The PR function is part of the integrated marketing team. The PR leader will work closely with marketing, sales and research teams to identify and create press worthy stories and content to further NCM's leadership position in the industry. The successful candidate has strong relationships within advertising trade media, is proactive and adept at cross-functional collaboration, excels in a fast-paced environment, and is a strong writer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Public Relations:

Develop and implement proactive strategic and tactical communications campaigns to secure publicity in advertising trade, business and consumer media to support NCM sales, marketing and business objectives. Create all NCM communications materials, including press releases, statements, fact sheets, story pitches, key messages, executive media training, NCM press website, executive byline articles and speaking opportunities, etc. Establish and oversee media relationships with reporters, editors and producers at relevant national, local and trade media outlets; create and maintain NCM's media databases. Communicate with media contacts on a regular ongoing basis, serve as the official company spokesperson. Work collaboratively with internal business leaders and external advertising clients and other business partners to create unified publicity strategies and identify positive stories and messages about the company, its products and services. Report PR results internally and to outside stakeholders (clients, theater owners, agency partners). Manage and direct one NCM staff member and external PR agencies. Manage budgets, PR department systems and tools, and negotiate contract terms. Corporate & Financial Communications:

Work collaboratively with the C-suite, financial team, and outside specialized firm on earnings announcements, earnings call scripts, investor presentations, annual report writing, etc. Handle all interactions with the financial and business media. Lead crisis communications strategies, as needed. Corporate Social Media:

Oversee strategy, development and management of NCM corporate social media channels (blog, LinkedIn) in partnership with the marketing team leaders who manage consumer-facing social media channels.

Internal Communications:

Develop high level internal communications programs in collaboration with the CMO, CHRO, and General Counsel. Pending bandwidth and prioritization, support execution with HR team. Write executive presentations and speeches, including C-suite and executive addresses to the company. Manage NCM staff member who crafts select employee communications (including All Hands Meeting and Board Meeting presentations) and NCM's internal and external digital presence. QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 10+ years working in a PR role within the marketing, advertising and/or media industries with demonstrated success of PR placements Deep knowledge and relationships with the trade media covering the advertising, media, and marketing industry, and willingness to further develop and nurture these relationships across all facets of editorial media (TV, digital, TV, radio) Passion for and understanding of the advertising, media, and entertainment industries, with the ability to remaining up-to-date on the latest news, trends, events, how advertisers are embracing content marketing, and the evolving theatrical and streaming businesses Experience bringing together a variety of stakeholders (clients, agencies, etc.) to develop unified messaging and joint PR strategies for partner projects and initiatives Experience driving press strategy for C-suite leaders and/or high-level, high-profile executives who frequently are interviewed by the media, serving as a trusted advisor and providing counsel on crises and other issues Outstanding writing, editing and interpersonal skills Hands on, organized, multi-tasking expert who can lead a team, meet urgent deadlines and simultaneously manage multiple projects Experience developing effective social media strategies, communications and best practices across platforms Passionate about developing and implementing creative employee engagement opportunities that will lift morale and elevate NCM's reputation and corporate culture Basic understanding of the SEC laws and regulations governing the nature and timing of NCM's communications as a publicly traded company.

SALARY RANGE & BENEFIT OPTIONS FOR NEW YORK APPLICANTS:

Salary Range: Base Salary of approximately $200,000-$255,000 annually plus bonus - compensation is commensurate with skills & experience.
