What's the job?

The Director of Marketing will be an integral part of the marketing team, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer with 2 direct reports. They will be the ultimate storyteller, culture and tone setter and passionate marketer who loves bringing all marketing channels together to develop a cohesive, multi-channel strategy across both digital and traditional marketing channels. You are a key steward of the Summer Discovery brand and will work across all marketing channels to ensure our messaging, photography and content is on-brand. The Director of Marketing will also be responsible for seeking out and developing mutual relationships for advertising and cross-collaboration across complementary organizations to expand our marketable audience. This may include building a strategy for outreach to special interest or affinity groups, other business organizations, advertising partners, school organizations, event, community organizations and more.

From on-campus pre-college experiences for students, dorm life, travel to the beach, lakes, amusement parts and local cities to academic life that is project based and hands on like music production, criminal forensics, robotics, culinary arts, sports marketing and so much more, your role is build word of mouth, media buzz and awareness of the Summer Discovery brand and bring the summer to life the experience in a way that drives more prospective students and parents to want to learn more. Your target audiences will be dual - and content must resonate with both students as well as parents and embody the Summer Discovery brands. You will be focused on developing KPIs around the various marketing channels and tracking results to continually optimize the campaigns and strategy throughout the year.

Excellent creative design, verbal and written communication skills are required as this role will have the responsibility for writing copy, assisting in creating content. They will be strategic minded with a finger on the pulse of social media and digital trends and have experience producing content for brands across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter and others.

Summer Discovery is a growing company with a seasonal business, so flexibility and the ability to pivot will be important to support our summer programs. The ideal candidate will be detailed-oriented, self-motivated and work hard with a desire to visit and support our summer programs. Our office is in Roslyn, NY - so we are looking for someone who lives in the NY/NJ metro-area and works in a hybrid work model with at least 2 days in the office and the ability to travel for meetings from time to time.

This role also requires the ability and desire to travel to summer programs between late June - early August to assist as needed on campus or to capture original, authentic content

Essential FunctionsDevelops and manages key dates, deadlines and content deliverables associated with the holistic cross-channel marketing calendar.Curates engaging copy, text, image and video content for marketing channels.Works across teams to access pertinent academic and campus-level information and support for support channel marketing efforts.Develops a monthly KPI reporting tracking to understand progress, identifies trends, insights, and optimizes spend and performance based on the insights.Owns and develops the strategy around partnership outreach to advertising partners, local and community partners, interest groups, local events and school partners.Oversees and maintains partnerships - tracks outreach and conversion efforts in HubspotCollaborates with agencies and vendor partners.Regularly identifies area of opportunity or to test to drive continual improvement.Develops the content strategy for the website and blog aligned to the marketing calendar.Manages the PR agency and oversees the PR strategy.Brainstorms creative growth ideas.Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness (promotions & competitions) and new ways to attract new leads.Builds and develops new lifecycle and personalized campaigns to drive marketing improvements throughout the sales funnel.Crafts partnerships with social media influencers/content creators who can drive applications, spread positive word of mouth, and increase overall brand reachOversees the brand ambassador program and the alumni association.A strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution.Utilizes strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.Other duties as assigned - specific to role focus or departmental needs.Qualifications

7+ years of experience in marketing strategy, email marketing, advertising, branding and/or social mediaBachelor's Degree in marketing communications, journalism or relevant fieldSolid understanding of marketing metrics, tracking and KPIsAbility to create and deploy their own content using Canva, social media scheduling tools like Spout, and work in a website content management system like WordPressStrong writing and verbal communication skillsHigh level knowledge and understanding of CRM tools, like HubSpot.Knowledge of online marketing and marketing channelsAttention to detail and able to multi-taskStrong analytical skills and data-driven thinkingAbility and desire to travel to summer programs between late June - early August to assist as needed or to capture original, authentic content

The pay range for this role is:

125,000 - 135,000 USD per year (Roslyn, NY)
