The Role

Fidelity Investments is looking for a User Experience Researcher who is passionate about their craft and improving employee digital experiences. As a member of the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area, you will keep the end user at the center of everything we do, ensuring we are delivering world-class digital end-to-end experiences for our associates and customers. You will sit with other designers and user researchers within the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area and be aligned to an interdisciplinary squad.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Experience

5-8 -years of UX or related experience is preferredA degree in a related field such as in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Usability Engineering, Experimental Psychology or related field, or equivalent education and related training / certificationExperience working on agile teams delivering value in digital products preferredFinancial or similar industry experience desired.Experience with user-centered design research methodologies and rapid ideation processes such as Lean XD, Design Sprints and Agile methodologies.Skills

Deep familiarity with executing a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, task analysis, contextual inquires, ethnographic studies, & card sorting.Ability to craft, evaluate and evolve user models (personas, scenarios, profiles).Ability to perform heuristic evaluation, accessibility reviews and testing of applications and make concrete recommendations for improving their usability.Effective communication as a writer, presenter, and facilitator; equally at ease speaking with developer partners or executivesCreates and develops post project executive summaries, retrospectives and project follow-upsA foundation of development knowledge, both web and mobilePartnering with other user researchers and designers to understand the customer problems to tackleDistilling qualitative and quantitative feedback to unearth recurring themes and promote data-driven design decisionsAn unwavering curiosity to ask whyUX Researchers typically

Lead definition of the research work and deliver business outcomes across multiple product teams, with minimal guidance and coachingPlan, execute and analyze user research studies with the ability to flexibly scale them across desktop and mobile devices.Collaborate with stakeholders to define & refine research objectives and ensure alignment with strategic, business and user goals.Work closely with UX strategists, designers and fellow researchers to provide research expertise and support during workshops and ongoing UX activities.Interpret qualitative and quantitative data from web analytics, user research data, trends and patterns to create actionable recommendations at project and portfolio level.Provide rapid prototyping support to communicate concepts/designs recommendations based on research conducted.Synthesize research data, summarize findings & present results to management and project teams for both strategic and project level insight.Partner with the product owner to help inform product strategyWork across the organization to drive consistent customer experiencesContribute to the culture of the Digital Workplace Experience Chapter Area (user research & UXD)Provide research and product thought leadership

As a member of the Digital Workplace team within Enterprise Technology, you will be working in a collaborative, dynamic, and creative environment at Fidelity Investments. You will have the opportunity to be immersed in work across the organization, engage with and influence leaders, while solving some of Fidelity's most critical business issues.

The vision of Digital Workplace is to ensure associates have the right digital tools, training, and support to do their best work. We will do this by owning the associate digital experience for the firm, focusing on capabilities (rather than on tools and vendors), using a test-and-learn approach, designing more effective rollout and adoption experiences, and paying close attention to every detail in the "last mile."

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
