ASRC Federal Gulf States Constructors is seeking an GIS ANALYST, CARTOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN to support activities under the Sheppard Air Force Base contract in Wichita Falls, Texas

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a GIS/CAD specialist for the development, implementation, maintenance, administration, coordination, security, and adaptation of geospatially referenced database technologies and datasets for the GeoBase Geographic Information System (GIS) at Sheppard AFB.

Responsible for geodatabase design, creation, collection and/or assimilation of base data

Analyze internal and external data requests and implement adjustments to the design data

Provide direction and feedback to ensure AFCEC data standards are met

Provide geospatial support to internal and external teams with data development, data scrubbing and analysis, online and hardcopy map creation, training, and setup of field data collection apps

Prepare and execute queries in spatial and non-spatial databases using SQL, Python, and VBScript

Develop and maintain geospatial datasets including those stored in relational databases in addition to the Common Installation Picture (CIP), Mission Datasets (MDS), and Space Use Data Sets (SUDS)

Document the physical characteristics of the installation and satellite locations for utilities, facilities, topography, infrastructure, etc. in a digital database. Record changes as they occur

Create and maintain GIS spatial data files, utilities, transportation (road & pedestrian), airfield information, and base maps

Provide highly detailed and/or specialized maps and training aids of the installation and satellite locations for all internal and external customers

Maintain and sustain the GIO (Geographical Information Officer) status for Sheppard AFB

Serve as CAD/GIS Software POC for Sheppard AFB

Serve as Equipment Custodian for Trimble Land Surveying Equipment on behalf of AFGIMS

Conduct Linear Segmentation and Accountability, Existing and Completeness audits with the Real Property Officer

Aid in site surveys to support facility siting, accident investigation, or other matters.

Communicate with all internal and external customers in a courteous, timely and professional manner

All other duties as assigned to support the Company and the customer

Requirements:

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Five (5) years GIS experience required. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, cartography, geography, geology, or other GIS related field preferred

Office-based working environment and occasional business travel required

Valid State Driver’s License

Must be able to maintain a security clearance if required

Additional trainings, certification classes, and conferences may be required

Must possess excellent oral, written and communication skills to be able to interact with the team members, customers and management

Be familiar with surveying technologies and equipment, i.e. Trimble Total Stations, LiDAR Scanners, autolevels, Trimble Business Center, etc.

General knowledge of programs to include Adobe, Autodesk, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and ArcGIS Pro, SQL, Python, Arcade, VBScript

Have the ability to address a wide variety of audiences

Strong attention to detail and ability to execute on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
