Academy of Art University Industrial Design students are learning how to make the world safer, cleaner, more interesting and beautiful through thoughtful and intelligent designs. Responsibilities:Manage, mentor and inspire Directors, Associate Directors, faculty and staff of the School of Industrial Design.Maintain the standard and requirements set by Academy of Art University including all accreditation guidelines.Maintain constant communication with Executive Office, Faculty, staff, students, and non-academic support groups.Develop a relationship and maintain communication with industries for placement, sponsorship opportunities and their advice on the program.Constantly searching for professionals in the field of expertise for teaching prospect as well as developing existing teachers.Maintain communication with Alumni to ensure their positive support towards program.Monitor all activities within the school of Industrial Design to ensure safety.Maintaining high level of morale and productivity of both faculty body and student body.Update current curriculum to maintain cutting edge curriculum.Manage the content and consistent quality of the Industrial Design program curriculum, both onsite and online.Recruit professional faculty as needed following the University's faculty interview and recommendation process. Ensure thorough orientation for new faculty, including familiarity with course and program goals, teaching expectations and standards for student work.Provide annual performance evaluations for faculty to ensure excellence in education.Encourage academic excellence. Assist both undergraduate and graduate students in successful completion of their chosen degrees.Attend University and department meetings and events. Participates in faculty meetings, orientations, and accreditation visits as well as Spring Show.Interact professionally with other Department Directors and the extended community.Oversee recruitment of new students.Prepare and oversee the department budget.Work in conjunction with the other Directors and Leaders to consider the program's faculty requirements, staff, events, expenses and equipment needs as necessitated by the curriculum.

Qualifications:A minimum of 7 years' professional experience in the field of Industrial Design, solid knowledge in the Industrial Design field.A minimum of 4 years' management experience preferred.Excellent leadership, training and developmental skills as well as strong decision-making skills.Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate all levels in the organization.

Compensation:

$110,000 - $150,000/year.
