Job Title: Designer
Job Description
We are seeking a designer to help with QA/QC of make ready designs. This is in support of one specific client in the PA area that is doing make ready designs. The candidate will review submitted designs of 3rd party attachment work, including field notes, construction documents, and list of materials/pricing sheets. Responsibilities include ensuring drawing packages meet client standards and the checklist for each job. If errors are found, they will be noted and sent back to the contracted design firm for correction. Once jobs are QA'd, they will be submitted to the client as completed. Experience with overhead distribution design is required to effectively QA with minimal training. The candidate will be part of a 3-person team responsible for this batch of work.
Hard Skills
Working knowledge of AutoCAD/CAD OR MicroStation
Experience with overhead distribution design
3rd party attachment project experience
Soft Skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Eagerness to learn and absorb information
Coordination skills
Interest in getting into utilities
Seeking an opportunity with a well-known engineering firm to kickstart career
Ability to commute in-office daily and willingness to do field work
Job Type
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 15 Month(s). After this period, you will go direct with the client. This is a long term position.
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Hunt Valley, Maryland. In the future, there may be opportunities to work a hybrid schedule 1-2 days a week based on tenure, experience, performance etc.
Work Environment
In-office role with rare occasions for site visits. The work culture is positive and flexible, with core hours but flexibility to come in earlier or later as long as 8-hour workdays are logged. Multiple contractors on site enjoy the management style and freedom to operate in their own style. For example, some people work 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, 9-5 etc.
