Role Summary

Urban Outfitters is seeking an apparel Assistant Designer intern to join us for the Summer of 2025. Interns will be supporting facilitate the development process of private-label products ensuring it aligns with the seasonal theme and overarching aesthetic of the Urban Outfitters brand.

The URBN 2025 Summer Internship Program will run from 6/2 through 8/8 at our Home Office in Philadelphia, PA.

Summer Internship Program Application Process:

Apply to one (1) internship posting that best suits your interest & skills. If there is a project component required for the design internship position you are applying for, you will be notified directly by 11/8. If requested to complete a project, it is required that you submit this to be considered for a position.Complete Video Interview: Candidates selected will receive an email with a link to complete a video Interview. You will have 2 days to complete this portion of the application once the email is received.Interviews will be scheduled with our internal teams, continuing on a rolling basis.

Role Responsibilities

Assist in preparing presentation materials for seasonal benchmark meetings such as Sketch Review, Finalization, and Print + Color Assortments.Contributes new ideas and suggestions that help support seasonal brand direction.Communicates and collaborates effectively both internally and with cross-functional partners and vendors to ensure product execution reflects design intent.Developing AI imagery through Artificial Intelligence applications, for example: Mid-Journey and PromeAI.Maintains awareness of trend, shares research and inspiration with direct reports (blogs, magazines, retail experience, street-style, and vintage exploration as it relates to the UO product).Learning about fabrics and applying wash/dye techniques.Responsible for updating spec sheets: sketching flats, listing trims, and curating BOMs that vendors can properly execute garment in sample form.Tracks, manages and organizes department samples.Role Qualifications

Ability to sketch design ideas accurately and emotionally while maintaining a good sense of proportion and accurately illustrate details to communicate design vision to manage.Flexible, adaptable, and flourishes in a fast-paced work environment.Possesses mocking, draping, sewing, and other technical skills related to garment making.Proactive and self-starter .Proficient with technology; Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe XD, Procreate, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple partners in Design, Buying, Product Development and Technical Designers.Takes responsibility for organizing their work, setting their own timelines and anticipating change.
