Cleveland Clinic's website is the front door for many patients and this team aims to create the most intuitive, empathetic and accessible website experience possible. As a Senior User Experience Designer and Researcher, you will:

Develop visual design concepts for Cleveland Clinic's website and digital properties with a focus on intuitive user experiences.

Work closely with various teams, including web development, product management, editorial, SEO, UX and project stakeholders to understand UI design requirements on a variety of projects.

Deliver clear and detailed handoffs.

Collaborate with developers throughout the development phase to ensure quality deliverables.

Mentoring less experienced UX designers.

Lead research and design efforts on projects and assignments.

The ideal future caregiver is someone who:

Has experience as a UX Designer and proven experience working on user centered design solutions for brands and design systems.

Has a strong portfolio of design and extensive research in UX research.

Is experienced in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as user interview, usability testing, surveys, data analysis and analytics.

Is self-motivated.

Is a strong communicator and collaborator.

Responsibilities:

Develops visual design concepts for Cleveland Clinic's website and digital properties.

Collaborates with various teams including web development, product management, editorial, SEO, UX and project stakeholders to understand user interface design requirements on a variety of projects.

Translates complex project requirements into thoughtful visual designs that lead to intuitive user experiences.

Works within the Cleveland Clinic brand to continuously improve user experiences.

Proactively innovates and makes recommendations on how to best visually communicate to various audiences.

Understands and ensures accessible design solutions, with an attention to site performance.

Communicates design processes, ideas, and solutions to colleagues and project stakeholders.

Delivers clear and detailed handoffs to ensure accurate development.

Collaborates closely with developers throughout the development phase to ensure quality deliverables.

Develops interactive prototypes as needed.

Provides mentorship within the design team as needed.

Ensures project timeliness, quality and client satisfaction.

Manages project workload.

Additional Job Description for Senior User Experience Designer & Researcher

This role will additionally be responsible for extensive UX Research.

Conduct in-depth research to understand user behaviors, needs, and preferences.

Apply appropriately, qualitative, and quantitative research methods like user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and data analysis to gather insights.

Collect and analyze user behavior through usability testing, click-stream analytics, surveys, card sorting, tree testing, field studies, etc.

Analyze and synthesize user feedback and behavior data to inform design decisions, measure success, and iterate on product features.

Based on research findings, identify areas of user dissatisfaction and potential areas for enhancement in the user experience of products.

Conduct competitive analysis to identify industry trends and best practices.

Generate user personas and user journey maps to help define development requirements for releases.

Clearly present research findings and recommendations persuasively and concisely to all functions and levels, including executives.

Masters in User Experience Design preferred.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Interaction Design or a related field.

Complexity of Work:

Frequent exercise of independent judgment and initiative required.

Flexibility and willingness to move from idea to execution quickly.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of peers and clients.

Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills and solid troubleshooting ability.

Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in current professional software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, is required.

Proficiency in current UI design software.

Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Work Experience:

Five years of related experience.

Strong digital portfolio required.

Physical Requirements:

Excellent visual acuity including color perception and attention to detail.

Manual dexterity required to operate computer and related equipment and to create working mechanicals and presentation boards using traditional tools.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $33.46

Maximum hourly: $51.03
