They combine domain knowledge, design expertise, and strategic thinking to guide projects from conception to completion. Our design team makes key decisions, communicates clearly with all stakeholders, and analyzes user data to inform choices. They ensure our products meet client needs, align with business goals, and deliver exceptional user experiences.What we would like from youAs a Senior Product Designer at BLEN, you will lead the development of innovative digital solutions for our federal clients. Your responsibilities will include:Strategic Design Leadership
Collaborate with management, engineering, and product teams to shape design vision and strategyGuide cross-functional teams in delivering high-impact design solutions aligned with client goalsDevelop and maintain design initiative briefs and discovery artifacts to foster shared purpose and success metricsClient and User Engagement
Partner with clients to identify key challenges and prioritize user-centered outcomesOversee design delivery, ensuring quality and adherence to client expectationsServe as the primary design point of contact for stakeholdersDesign Expertise
Leverage deep knowledge of user-centered design methodologies to lead iterative, outcome-driven developmentMake critical decisions to keep projects on track and aligned with evolving client needsBalance program strategy with tactical design support as neededTeam Development
Mentor and coach junior designers, fostering professional growthBuild and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholdersParticipate in grading candidate homeworks and panel interviewsDesign Execution and Innovation
Lead the delivery of design work including sketches, wireframes, UX flows, low and high fidelity prototypesChampion user needs and inclusive design in priority-setting and trade-off managementDrive adoption of iterative, outcome-focused design practicesDevelop strategies that maximize value delivery within program constraintsAccessibility and Compliance
Lead accessibility tasks inclusive of 508 compliance and stay informed of emerging accessibility standardsEnsure design processes and deliverables comply with relevant standards and regulationsYour main goal will be to ensure our products effectively address our clients' challenges through impactful, user-centered design.Basic QualificationsEssential Requirements
Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years of relevant experienceAdvanced experience in content design skills including plain language, inclusive content, concise writing, and content strategyAdvanced knowledge of UX process and craft skillsExperience tackling undefined, complex challenges with a strategic mindsetPrior experience serving as a mentor to junior level team membersProficiency with design software such as Figma, Miro, Adobe or other designer toolsPreferred Skills and Experience
Master's degree in Design, HCI, or related fieldExperience with design systems and pattern librariesKnowledge of emerging design trends and technologiesProfessional certifications such as UXPA, IxDA, or other related certificationsExperience in government or public sector projectsIdeal candidates will demonstrate a blend of design expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in user experience design.RequirementsMust be a US Citizen or legal resident and able to work domesticallyMust be able to attain low-level security clearanceLocationRemoteIt’s unlikely, but there may be a need to travel to Washington, DC.PerksWork from anywhere.Competitive pay.A contribution to your health benefit.The chance to work on high-visibility projects and make a significant impact.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities
