Skills and Experience: Three or more years of related experience. Education beyond high school may count toward experience. Excellent organizational skills with particular ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple and conflicting interests.

Proven project and/or program management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills . Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. Competency using a variety of computer software.

Department:PZPre-Employment Screening:Identity Job Function:General Administration Position Description:

Coordinates and has direct responsibility for the specific set of tasks for the DESE Civics Pathways (DCP) initiative as outlined below;

Organizes and implements administrative systems and procedures performing necessary support duties for overall DCP operations;

Serves as principal administrative contact and liaison with learning designers and teacher leaders and is principal source of information on established program policies;

Prepares and maintains unit's records (such as financial, administrative) and reviews complex documents, reports, etc., to assure compliance with University requirements and/or government regulations, and notifies supervisor of unusual situations;

Monitors teacher leader cohort and DESE events budget, maintains financial documentation for these activities, provides information, research, statistics, and analysis of these budgets.

Keeps current on University compliance issues, regulations and guidelines and the DESE Civics Pathways contracted IP policies and Harvard IP policies; advises appropriate community members accordingly;

Negotiates with hotels, caterers and vendors, makes recommendations for food and activities for participants, managing to a pre-assigned event/function budget; assigns and coordinates classroom, AV/IT and other facilities on behalf of program;

Gathers and maintains data for and assists in preparing reports on teacher leader activities;

Contributes to unit goals by accomplishing related duties as required.

Job Summary:

HGSE is a diverse community of learners, teachers, and employees who are passionate about changing the world through education and striving for maximum impact in the field of education.

Responsible for all administrative logistics of the DESE Civics Pathways initiative, a three-year contract with the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) to support the development and delivery of civics-focused professional development for MA public school teachers. The fiscal year FY25 is the third and final year of the contract. The position will coordinate program implementation and in-person and online meetings, courses, workshops, and conferences; serve as principal administrative contact and liaison for learning designers, teacher leaders, and other internal constituencies; work independently with minimal supervision in a work environment of multiple and conflicting priorities; and anticipate and resolve problems and update supervisor on status of projects.

Work Format:Hybrid (partially on-site, partially remote) Work Format Details:This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts.
