With minimal oversight, provides leadership and strategic direction for firm communications. Uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to develop and implement strategy for communicating company initiatives and managing reputational risk as it may occur. Leads a high-performing team and multiple large projects with significant scope and impact. Works independently on difficult assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Supports business leadership in issue management and other related efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Translates business strategy into work programs and processes.Ensures alignment of communications with firm brand objectives.Oversees a high-value function(s) including teams and individuals.Measures effectiveness of communications efforts and oversees preparation of related management reports.Manages specialty function(s) and related staff in alignment with long-term firm objectives.Drives three-year planning process for specialty function(s) and facilitates associate goal-setting discussions and activities.Cultivates and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Provides executive-level and public message development, and/or coaching support as needed.Develops strategic, proactive communications or media plans.Represents Corporate Communications in working groups responsible for enterprise-wide initiatives, change management, business continuity and issue management.Oversees external communications agency relationships as needed to supplement resources and/or capabilities.Oversees the firm’s social media programs.Represents the Marketing department and/or company at internal and external conferences.Performs human resource management activities, including identifying performance problems and approving recommendations for remedial action; evaluating performance; and interviewing and selecting staff.Plans, assigns, monitors, reviews, evaluates and leads the work of assigned staff.Coaches and mentors staff, identifies training needs and creates development plans.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Knowledge of :

Advanced principals of the financial services industry in order to support communication needs at all levels.Advanced concepts, practices and procedures of marketing and financial services industry regulations.Issues and media impacting the financial services industry.Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint sufficient to create documents, spreadsheets, e-mails and presentations.Skill in :

Advanced concepts, practices and procedures of communications.Managing time sufficient to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.Developing strategy including identifying objectives, defining requirements and developing a structure for accomplishing objectives successfully.Building and maintaining relationships with key constituents.Ability to :

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, business management or related field and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in corporate communications or related activities.Two (2) years of management experience preferred.
