The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue and profit growth and increase market share. The VP of Sales and Marketing will lead a team of sales and marketing professionals and work closely with other departments to achieve company objectives.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Sales and marketing strategies: Develop and implement overall sales and marketing strategies aligned with company goals and objectives. Identify target markets, customer segments, and develop plans to penetrate new markets. Maximize profits through development and support of rebate programs. Develop and execute negotiation strategies to increase earnings.Drive revenue growth: Set and achieve monthly and annual revenue targets. Oversee the sales team and provide guidance to optimize sales processes, improve customer conversion rates and increase sales productivity.Lead sales team: Build and manage a high-performing sales team by recruiting, training, and motivating sales professionals. Provide coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure individual and team success. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Customer relationship management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Understand customer demographic characteristics, needs and preferences and develop strategies to meet their requirements. Monitor customer satisfaction level and take appropriate actions to address issues and enhance customer experience.Vendor relationship management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors. Understand vendor demographic characteristics, needs and preferences and develop strategies to meet their requirements. Monitor vendor satisfaction level and take appropriate actions to address issues and enhance vendor support.Market analysis and intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and industry dynamics. Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and threats. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and adjust sales and marketing strategies accordingly.Marketing and branding: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to enhance brand visibility and generate demand. Utilize marketing research and customer data insights to develop targeted marketing campaigns, promotion, and product positioning.Lead the marketing department and oversee the creation and implementation of marketing materials and promotions and digital marketing strategies to support sales in generating new business.Budget and financial management: Develop and manage the sales and marketing budget. Monitor and analyze sales and marketing expenses, ROI, and key performance indicators.Implement cost-effective strategies while ensuring the achievement of sales and revenue targets.Leadership: Through management decisions, communication, and behavior, creates a culture and team that works together to meet customer and vendor needs and achieve desired results.Promotes an environment of empowerment, respect, and trust while holding team members accountable for their actions.Collaboration and coordination: Work closely with other departments, such as operations, finance, purchasing, to align sales and marketing efforts with overall business objectives.Foster cross-functional and cross-branch collaboration to drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.Supervisory Responsibilities:

Marketing Manager, Outside Sales Representatives, Territory Sales Managers, VP EVSP, Solar Sales Manager, and Industrial Automation Division Manager.Education & Experience:

B.A. in Business, Marketing, or related field plus three years of industry experience, or equivalent to fifteen years of related experience and training or equivalent combination or education and experience. Proven success in sales and marketing leadership roles, building high performing teams, preferably in the wholesale distribution industry. Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets.Skills:Industry Specific Skills:

Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles, strategies, and best practices.Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers/vendors or other employees.Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills:

Proficient in using Microsoft 365, familiarity with reporting software such as Microsoft Power BI or Phocas, and a basic understanding of ERP software.Certificates & Licenses:
