The Director of Corporate Communications is an experienced generalist who uses best practices to develop and direct project-based and annual communications strategies and tactics via external communication channels.This individual will report to and work closely with the Executive Director of Employee Engagement and Corporate Communications. They will develop effective communications for audiences including media, industry analysts, influencers, etc. They will support corporate and product portfolio communications, and issue and reputation management, as well as other external communications initiatives as needed.Job Duties and Responsibilities
Developing and leading external communications, advocating for creative approaches to ensure success and measurable ways to reach key audiences.Contributing to the strategic corporate communications planning process on a yearly basis.Managing proactive media outreach in support of the company’s regulatory, commercial and clinical milestones.Partnering with regional business and marketing leads to drive strategic alignment and execution on key product communications initiatives.Providing ongoing counsel and maintaining regular interactions with business partners in various functions.Liaising with colleagues at our parent company on press releases and related activities.Keeping the company’s corporate narrative, website content, and company materials dynamic and current.Managing supporting communications agency.Key Core Competencies
Demonstrates broad experience developing and executing strategic communications plans while managing competing priorities.Brings strong external communications experience – including media relations capabilities and issues management expertise.Performs as a self-motivated, solutions-oriented communications professional.Demonstrates effective writing style and high-impact messaging.Ability to articulate complex information in simple terms.Able to manage multiple layers of reviews and approvals.Exhibits highly organized, detail-oriented work style.Ability to maintain high productivity while balancing tight deadlines.Demonstrates business acumen and fluency in topical health care news and industry trends.Ability to travel domestically as needed.Brand/product PR experience preferred.Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent.At least 10 years of corporate and/or product PR experience within a corporate or agency environment. Health care experience is preferred.The base salary range for this role is $178,100 to $222,600.
