Apply now, read the job details by scrolling down Double check you have the necessary skills before sending an application.Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Graphic Design, the Assistant Director will be able to work independently and collaborate with others on the University Annual Giving direct marketing team, including project managers and other members of the creative team, as well as external partners. As part of University Advancement’s Office of Engagement, this candidate will be able to use their skills to inspire a range of audiences to support the University and demonstrate the benefits of giving to UVA.

Responsibilities

Create and edit visual content for integrated marketing communications, including email, web, print, video, and social media.

Ensure consistent use of the UVA brand and the partner’s branding throughout marketing materials.

Create digital toolkits for partners and volunteers to share marketing content.

Collaborate with other creative professionals within the team and across the University. Serve as a resource for best practices in social media, digital design, and fundraising.

Participate in Office of Engagement events.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

3 years of relevant work experience.

Bachelor’s degree.

Advanced knowledge of design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, etc.

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Experience creating content for social media, email, and web.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in nonprofit or higher education fundraising.

Experience in videography and photography.

This position will remain open until filled. This is an exempt level, benefited position. This position is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance. The salary range is $55,000-$65,000 and is commensurate with education and experience. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. Depending on the type of position and work performed, or as deemed by manager, some positions may be required to work intermittently in a shared office space located in Charlottesville, Virginia.

This position may work from anywhere, with the expectation of being in Charlottesville a minimum of twice a year at UVA’s expense.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
