The Assistant Director of Digital Media will help develop and oversee the execution of the district's digital communication strategy, including social media, website management, and multimedia content creation. This role is responsible for collaborating with various departments to align communication efforts with the district's strategic goals, and ensuring the consistent, high-quality promotion of NOLA-PS's unique public school system. The Assistant Director of Digital Media will also be tasked with setting strategic goals for digital engagement and overseeing the production of innovative content that reflects the diverse community of New Orleans. The ideal candidate will excel at creating original visual and written content, managing various social media accounts, and serving as internal liaison for website content to achieve NOLA-PS's strategic communication goals. The Assistant Director of Digital Media reports to the Executive Director of Communications.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHelp develop and implement a comprehensive digital media strategy that supports NOLA-PS's overall communication and branding goals, including digital content calendars;Oversee the daily development, design, and execution of all content creation, social media posts/management, multimedia materials, and website updates to ensure they align with strategic priorities;Ensure daily dissemination of content is engaging, on-brand, and effectively promotes NOLA-PS's vision and embodies the strategic plan;Develop and implement social media strategies to grow the District's social media presence, increase engagement, and promote key initiatives, while monitoring trends and analytics to adjust strategies as needed;Oversee the management and continuous improvement of the District's website, ensuring it serves as an effective communication tool for all stakeholders, and work with vendor to guide SEO strategies to improve site visibility and accessibility;Work closely with other departments and external partners to ensure digital media efforts are aligned with district-wide initiatives and campaigns;Execute digital response strategies during crisis situations, ensuring timely and accurate information is disseminated through appropriate digital channels;Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital media efforts, regularly analyze data to assess the effectiveness of campaigns, and report findings to senior leadership;Develop and manage the budget for social media campaigns, ensuring effective allocation of resources to meet strategic objectives;Identify and implement new digital tools and platforms to enhance the District's digital communication efforts;Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff to stay current with the latest digital media trends and technologies;Support on daily communications priorities or needs related to media management or event management.In partnership with the AV/TV director, contribute to the development and production of video; check facts and plan video shoots;Performs other duties as required.Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in communications, digital media, or related field required;5+ years' experience with Internal/external communications in varied disciplines, such as organizational communication, executive communication, and public relations; education experience required.Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Strong project management & time management skills;Advanced proficiency in using digital marketing tools, social media platforms, and content management systems;Exceptional technical writing, editing, and content development skills;Expertise in creating social media content, increasing engagement, and executing digital campaigns;Able to execute campaigns through different communication channels (print, video, presentations, and via meetings);Ability to set and achieve strategic goals;Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making;Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with internal & external stakeholders at all levels;Experience with budget management and resource allocation;Knowledge of emerging digital trends and technologies;Proficiency with Constant Contact and Joomla CMS platforms or demonstrate ability to learn;Photography & videography skills;Highly Skilled in graphic design.

$60,400 - $89,485 a year

Salaries are determined by educational background and/or relevant years of experience.

Performance Evaluation

The employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods: via COMPASS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he/she will be evaluated via COMPASS to ensure renewal of certification.
