Position Overview

The Graphics Manager oversees the Graphics Department, ensuring timely and innovative design production for graphics, site renderings, and event décor. This role involves managing a team, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring client visions are met within budget. Reports to the Assistant Director of Production, Senior Leadership Team, and President.

Manage and schedule graphic designers in collaboration with the Graphics Production Supervisor.Provide creative direction to enhance design quality and innovation.Recruit, train, and oversee department staff.Liaise with Sales for sample and production needs, translating client visions into reality.Coordinate production and maintain graphics inventory, databases, and records.Plan weekly staff and production schedules, manage budgets, and implement cost-saving strategies.Introduce best practices and technologies to improve department capabilities.Maintain equipment and ensure safety and compliance with guidelines.Essential Duties

Oversee graphic designers, delegate tasks, schedule workloads, and manage hours to align with project needs and budgets.Guide the team to produce innovative designs that enhance the company’s industry standing.Recruit, hire, train, and develop department staff.Collaborate with the Creative Team and design directors to integrate client feedback and create fresh, producible event designs.Translate Sales team visions into graphic solutions for samples and production.Oversee graphic concept production, coordinate with other departments, and maintain inventory and records.Plan weekly schedules with Senior Management, manage department and project budgets, and implement cost-saving measures.Review pull-sheets, maintain workflow calendars, enforce event processing procedures, and develop a production workbook.Introduce new technologies and practices to improve department efficiency and quality.Ensure equipment maintenance, track time and tasks, complete HR and payroll tasks, and enforce safety guidelines and training.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field.Experience: 3-5 years in a graphics department; production experience is a plus.Proven ability to supervise and lead a team.Proficiency in various print formats (Eco Solvent, UV), strong design portfolio, and Microsoft Office (Excel required). Knowledge of event planning software (e.g., Ungerboeck) preferred.Ability to interpret pull sheets, pricing, and financial reports.Excellent verbal and written skills; effective with diverse individuals.Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and deadline management.Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and handling various artistic materials.Familiarity with printing procedures, tools, and equipment.Knowledge of event venues is a plus.Ability to work flexible hours, including early, late, and weekends.Physical and Work Environment Requirements .

Stand for 80% of the shift, lift 30-40 lbs., handle fragile items, and climb ladders.Walk, kneel, bend, and move between buildings.Vision: 20/20 vision with correction.Tolerate cold, heat, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and moderate noise.
