The Opportunity

Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures is seeking a Social Media Intern to join our dynamic team, supporting both the Mille Lacs and Hinckley properties. This intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media management and digital marketing within the casino industry. While enrollment in a marketing program or similar area of study is a plus, it is not a requirement. The ideal candidate must have reliable transportation and be prepared to work flexible hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays. You are strategic and discerning. You are a natural leader and a problem-solver, and you are highly motivated when your work has a deep, meaningful impact. The work you do will enrich and build the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, who take pride in their communities and see the growth and development.

What You Get to DoAssist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of social media campaigns for Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley.Engage with Guests and followers on social media platforms, ensuring positive and hospitable interactions.Create and schedule content for various social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, X (formally Twitter), and others.Support the coordination of social media strategies with marketing campaigns and events.Participate in content creation, including photography, video, and simple graphic design.Conduct research on current social media trends and provide recommendations to the team.Monitor social media analytics and assist in preparing performance reports.Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and contribute creative ideas.Assist in event coverage on social media, including live posting and real-time engagement during events.Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success and efficiency of the marketing team.Internship Structure

Duration:

Typically, 3-6 months, flexible based on organizational needs.Commitment:

20 - 30 hours per week.Location:

A mix of remote work and onsite participation at both Mille Lacs and Hinckley properties.Mentorship:

The intern will be paired with a marketing team mentor to guide and support their professional development.What We Look for In a Person

Enrollment in a marketing program or similar area of study is a plus but not required.Must be able to secure a license from the Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGRs).Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between Mille Lacs and Hinckley properties.Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays.Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.Must-Have Skills

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations and to moderate-sized gatherings of Associates, executives, and/or community leaders.Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate responses.
