Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.6 years of experience working with product and engineering teams at an app, website, digital music business, or record label.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience identifying emerging musical talent/trends, exploring emerging trends, working with record labels, publishers, artists, and content owners.Experience in product management or equivalent.Familiarity with a variety of digital music formats including Short Form Video.Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, work on multiple projects in a dynamic/constantly-changing context, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategy and roadmap.

Our goal in YouTube Music is to make YouTube the "best place for every music fan". YouTube has the world's largest catalog of multi-format music content including music videos, Shorts, other user-generated music content, Podcasts, and Live, with experiences spanning YouTube Main, YouTube Music app, Living Room, and more.

Music Knowledge, is a key Product Area in YouTube Music that powers intelligent music experiences across YouTube for a thriving music ecosystem of Fans, Artists, and Creators. Music + Podcasts Content Strategy (MPCS) in the Music Knowledge organization is at the epicenter of helping music culture on YouTube.

In this role, you will drive content and product strategy for YouTube's Music initiatives across a variety of surfaces and formats including Shorts and Music Videos, define and drive products, and collaborate closely with Knowledge and cross-organization product/engineering leads.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Bring music culture and market expertise to help drive product development and launches for YouTube Music.Help drive MPCS initiatives in areas including Youth, Shorts, Music programming, Gen-AI.Define product strategy (including PRDs) and requirements for Music Knowledge initiatives in areas like Music Corpus and Shorts Creators, using Music and Artist features in collaboration with product and/or engineering.Provide music content and artist intelligence to artist and label relations teams.Drive metric-based analyses of overall music content strategy and campaigns in the US and provide recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness.
