The Senior Designer will serve as the organization’s lead on all creative and branding activities. This role is responsible for executing the creative brand vision and providing primary design support across a variety of print and digital products and materials. The Senior Designer will work within a larger marketing and communications team to ensure all design deliverables are being met within the expected time period, while always pushing the creative boundaries to ensure all design products are reflective of the U.S. Travel brand – but presented in new, fresh ways. This position should provide efficiency and innovative solutions that continuously evolve the U.S. Travel brand and our events.Responsibilities:Develop innovative print and digital design for a wide range of assignments, including branding, social graphics, report and fact sheet layout, infographics, slide presentations, event collateral, signage, email templates, and website presentation.Maintain and evolve our brand and visual design identity.Strong eye for typography, photography and layout.Drive the creative process from concept to final execution, through collaboration with key staff and stakeholders.Communicate the strategy, insight, or rationale for all visual creative work to internal teams.Work across the organization to manage a design project from start to finish.Provide proactive solutions and ideas for graphic content that further enhances U.S. Travel’s program of work.Ability to work interdepartmentally, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver projects with quick turnaround times.Competencies:Teamwork: Demonstrating and promoting a spirit of cooperation within and outside work unit; working together toward a common goal; building good relationships with internal and external vendors.Communication: Conveying written and oral communications effectively; negotiating and mediating effectively; sharing information; listening attentively and responding appropriately.Initiative: Recognizing the need for action; confronting issues and taking appropriate action; being creatively proactive offering ideas where they may not be assigned.Developing Staff: Working closely with other team members who can support design needs.Problem Solving: Identifying design solutions and recognizing where creative should be updated or addressed; generating new ideas and practical solutions.Qualifications:Minimum 8+ years experience as a graphic or digital designer.Expert knowledge of design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Sketch.Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and is a collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.Strong portfolio of impeccable design demonstrating proficiency in both digital and traditional media.Attentive to small details and meticulous in execution.Strong understanding of web standards and latest web technologies, image optimization and cross-browser compatibility.Illustration and/or motion graphics experience a plus.HTML/CSS and Figma knowledge a plus.If interested, please submit your cover letter, resume, and reference list.
