This is a full-time staff position. The Assistant Director of Career Studio reports to the Associate Director of On-Campus Student Employment for the Offices of Career Connections and will provide the coordination and management for the Career Connections Career Studio, including hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling of Career Studio peer mentors. The Assistant Director will also oversee all marketing and promotion of Career Studio services as well as partner with faculty to offer Career Studio services in their courses.In addition, the Assistant Director will:Manage the Career Studio space, both during Studio hours and scheduling at other times.Coordinate orientation sessions focused on professional development for on-campus student employees.Conduct presentations in classrooms, to student organizations, student worker manager community, and other U of A career-focused events/seminars/workshops.Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.At least two years of full-time, professional work experience in career placement or counseling, higher education, academic advising, business/corporate or employer relations, marketing/external relations, university advancement/development, or a field that closely aligns with the objectives of the position.At least one year of experience managing project(s) that require strong organization and attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications:At least three years of professional work experience in career/academic advising.At least one year experience supervising and training student workers.Experience partnering or collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or departments on a college or university campus.Experience with independent planning and execution of multiple successful events, meetings, and outreach programs.Knowledgeable of career development and student development theories.Knowledge of individual and group counseling, program development, and performance improvement.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and career management software designed to support the needs of the position.Program research and evaluation skills.Recruitment Contact Information:Aviance Taylor
