Job Summary: The Communications Program Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic communication programs that enhance the companys brand and reputation, elevate our social media presence, drive public relations efforts, and establish the company as a thought leader. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of digital media trends, and the ability to foster a positive organizational culture. Primary Responsibilities: Collaborate with Business Units and other departments to implement effective 360 communication and social media strategies. Ensure communication strategies align with overall business objectives and support organizational goals. Draft and prepare speeches, talking points, presentations, and other materials for internal events, town halls, and company or industry events. Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media kits, company newsletters, and other PR materials. Manage and oversee the external content on the company website to ensure it is current, engaging, and consistent with communication goals. Build strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers. Coordinate press conferences, interviews, and other media events to promote the companys initiatives and achievements. Develop and manage internal communication plans, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. Plan and execute events, activities, and programs that foster employee morale, recognition, and collaboration. Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages, and engage with followers to build a strong online community. Analyze social media metrics and trends to evaluate campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging social media platforms to ensure the company remains at the forefront of digital marketing. Conduct surveys, gather feedback to assess employee satisfaction and engagement levels, and develop action plans based on the results. Work closely with HR to ensure alignment of communication efforts with employee development and retention goals. Minimum Qualifications: 5-7 years of communications and/or media relations experience. Proven track record of developing and earning stories with top-tier publications and other relevant outlets. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in digital marketing tools and software, such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, or similar platforms. End-to-end project management skills. Education and/or Experience Previous experience in the metals industry is highly desirable, demonstrating an understanding of industry-specific challenges and communication strategies. Experience with graphic design and multimedia content creation, including proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Proven experience handling crisis communication and managing public relations during challenging situations. Experience effectively managing vendors, contractors, and employees. Experience developing and implementing thought leadership strategies, including securing speaking engagements and publishing content in industry journals. Established relationships with media outlets and journalists and a proven track record of securing media coverage. Other Skills and Abilities Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions to optimize communication strategies.
