Job Description:
Job SummaryThe Manager of Video Directing is tasked with the oversight of video needs for live event broadcasts on the Hillsdale College Campus. These events can include athletic events, lectures and live news interviews from our department’s video studio. The AV team also takes turns with live event coverage, so we are seeking a well-rounded candidate that would be comfortable managing general AV needs for live events as well.
Essential Job Functions1. Develop consistency within our live video product, and direct live video productions when needed for larger events. Plan for event needs and train others in the best practices of a professional level live broadcast.
2. Possess strong analytic and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve technical issues as they arise.
3. Maintain knowledge in a video studio environment including audio and video patch-bays, fiber routing for camera feeds, Allen and heath d-live, clear-com, live stream encoders, Ip network routing and configuration, studio lighting etc.
4. Partner with members of our team to broadcast live interviews from our Hillsdale College studio to Fox News.
5. Plan and perform video post-production tasks, including reviewing footage, logging, rough cuts, audio adjustments and color correction.
6. Manage live AV events as assigned. This involves communicating with the event requestor to confirm AV details, preparing the venue with necessary gear, creating documentation and scheduling setup and tear down times.
7. Work alongside the student employee manager to train and support student teams in video standards, camera operation.
8. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for event productions throughout the year, and willingness to work evenings and weekends.,
9. Ability to climb ladders and operate genie and scissor lifts and able to carry up to 50lbs
10. Be a supporter of the vision, mission, and principles of the College and the AV team.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of audiovisual experience required
