We're looking for a creative, motivated, and passionate Hosiery

Designer

to join the Licensed Brands team in our Manhattan NYC design headquarters.

This is a hybrid position that may require onsite work. Candidates willing & able to commute into our NYC Design Hub are encouraged to apply.

In this role, you'll:Flex your product development & design muscles supporting licensed fashion brands like Chaps & Ralph Lauren, as needed.Partner with and Design Director and Sr. Designer to create sock designs that capture the heart and soul of our licensed brands; andDesign seasonal products from the conceptual stage, tech pack setup and factory correspondence, through to prototype and final sample approval.A great attitude, the ability to keep cool under pressure, and a passion for fashion is essential.

SUMMARY

Renfro's Designers develop the creative strategy, concept, and product development for assigned brands in partnership with Design Director and Brand Management leadership. Renfro's Designers support forward thinking ideas & trend analysis centered around assigned brands and categories. Renfro's Designers are responsible for seasonal product design and development from the conceptual stage, tech pack setup and factory correspondence, through to prototype and final sample approval.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attends key milestone meetings for assigned brands and segmentsConducts marketplaceresearch for trending knit stitches, patterns, and color

Analyzes seasonal trends and market research into hosiery concepts and uses as inspiration for new ideas

Translates brand concepts to segment lines using seasonal line plan and strategyCreates and maintains CADS, pack charts, PLM assets and presentation decksPresents seasonal final samples to Brand leadership for approvalManage product development life cycle from initial concept to approved samplesUtilize PLM, Pointcarre and Illustrator to generate detailed technical specifications and construction detailsSupports Design Director & Sr. Designer on all projects to help meet deadlines and achieve company goalsAdhere to established Merchandising Planning CalendarIdentifies opportunities and provides solutions for process improvementsPerforms additional duties as neededQualifications

Qualifications

Strong fashion design skills and strong sense of aestheticsExcellent attention to detail, time management skills and meeting deadlinesPositive attitude and ability to handle highly confidential informationAbility to work in a team and independentlyAbility to successfully collaborate with internal/external team membersStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are essentialEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Design within fashion or textile design, or equivalent industry experience of 4 years or more1-3 years of closely related design experience in legwear, apparel or knitwearKNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

Strong presentation skills to validate design concepts to internal sales groups and to Brand Management leadershipAbility to conceptually visualize and build a line from Cad/graph to finished productStrong color, print and pattern CAD capabilities, and excellent aesthetic sense for composition and color matchingExpert user in Illustrator requiredPLM experience a plusPointcarre knowledge a plusKnowledge and understanding of sock and hosiery machineryStrong team player with excellent communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skillsTop-notch written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)A knack for thriving in a fast-changing work environment and adapting to shifting prioritiesA self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environmentThe ability to juggle multiple priorities, stay on schedule and meet deadlines
