Environment Artist

Bit Reactor is in search of an Environment Artist to join us in exploring and expanding the Star Wars universe. Our environments are populated with variety of assets that range from architecture, hard surface objects and organic forms that will be both familiar and new to fans. You will work with other members of the art, cinematics, and design teams to craft beautiful worlds that will be visually stunning yet technically performant and fun to play.Responsibilities:Create both modular and unique environment assets with varying scales of complexityPossess modeling skills with a mixture of hard surface and organic assetsDevelop game assets from a mix of reference images and concept artWork with the Environment Lead to create immersive environments while maintaining the project's visual directionProduce game assets that work within design specifications and performance needsImplement, iterate, and review assets in engineCollaborate with Level Design, Lighting, VFX and Tech ArtQualifications:3+ years’ experience in the game industryExperience with Unreal EngineExcellent problem solving and interpersonal skillsA strong understanding of shape, form, and compositionProven abilities in optimized 3D asset creationSolid experience of PBR workflowsProficiency with industry standard modeling tools such as 3D Studio Max and MayaExperience working with ZBrush, Photoshop, and Substance PainterGood communication skills and the ability to work well within a teamA desire to learn and improve as an artistExperience with tiling textures and trim sheetsBonus:Experience working on a AAA title, especially a console titleAn understanding of the relationship between art and level designExperience working within Unreal Engine 4+An understanding of lightingExperience with set dressing and beautification passCandidates will be expected to provide a portfolio or demo reel of their work and may be asked to complete an art test.Bit Reactor prefers to hire candidates who are willing to relocate to Hunt Valley, Maryland, but is open to remote options.Bit Reactor, LLC is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, ancestry, color, citizenship, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, legally protected physical or mental disability, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
