The Retail Store Design Intern will be supporting fixture design, development, and implementation within Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. We work on the design and development of retail stores within the parks in North America. Our team is a highly motivated and creative group. This role will assist Store Design and Fixture development to ensure Disney’s expectations of quality and excellence are met. In addition, this internship will show how the store design process works and integrates with the greater Store Design/Visual team.
What You Will Do
Coordinate with key internal and external business partners to confirm/verify fixture requirements and requests
Craft and develop fixture presentation drawings for review, approval, and implementation
Lead and be responsible for the fixture shop drawing submittal and review process, this includes but is not limited to, design intent, constructability, etc
Have a strong understanding of retail standards/principles
Required Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency and experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D rendering software Sketch Up
Ability to read architectural plans and shop drawings, and present conceptual designs
Excellent written and interpersonal skills
Collaborative and displays attention to detail
Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and handle deadlines
Ability to analyze detailed information and resolve appropriate action
Digital literacy in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Education
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Undergraduate or recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design, or a related field

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Possess unrestricted work authorization

Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Orlando, FL area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
